Diseases of the joints

Diseases of the joints are diverse and numerous. Specialists share all pathologies in two categories. The first includes inflammation (arthritis), the second - changes in tissue degenerative nature (arthrosis). Diseases can affect different joints. Pathologies often affect the knees, fingers and toes. Diseases of the hip joints are common.

The development of arthritis most often occurs due to infection. The most common infectious pathologies that provoke these joint diseases include: influenza, angina, measles, tuberculosis, syphilis, dysentery and others. The causative agents carry blood flow or lymph flow. Thus, the infection penetrates into the joint cavity. Among other reasons provoking the development of arthritis, it is also necessary to name disorders of metabolic processes, chronic intoxication, autoimmune disorders, beriberi, hypothermia. As a rule, diseases of joints of inflammatory character are observed in people from thirty to fifty years.

As a rule, arthritis is accompanied by painful sensations in the affected area. A frequent sign of the onset of pathology is a certain stiffness that occurs after a long rest or in the morning. But with the beginning of the movement, this stiffness passes. Subsequently, however, discomfort increases, a longer period remains. After some time, the tumor develops in the area of damage. The skin above the most affected area acquires a red color, becomes hot by touch. The symmetry of the lesion is a hallmark of rheumatoid arthritis , a type of joint disease. Symptoms that accompany many joint diseases are: lack of appetite, fever, general weakness, insomnia, fatigue.

Crystals of uric acid with gout have the property of accumulating. As a result of their accumulation, arthritis develops in the joint cavity. It should be said that the course of pathology against the background of gout is characterized by rapidity and is accompanied by unbearable pain, a sharp increase in temperature. As a rule, such an attack takes place in a week, however, after several months it can happen again.

The same acute and intensive beginning is characteristic for purulent arthritis (nonspecific). Pathology begins to develop with a sharp increase (up to 40 degrees) temperature, weakness in the body, chills. The affected area gradually swells, becomes hot and red. Soreness manifests itself in all movements. Purulent arthritis is characterized by sharp, throbbing pain sensations. They worry even at rest, especially at night. In this pathology, urgent surgical intervention may be necessary, involving the opening and drainage of the cavity.

The manifestation of signs of any joint disease is a signal for an immediate call to the doctor. It should not be forgotten that pathologies differ in variety, and therefore only a qualified specialist can determine the cause of the occurrence of a particular lesion, and also to appoint competent and effective treatment. In order to clarify the diagnosis, biochemical, immunological, and clinical studies can be prescribed. In addition, the examination includes, as a rule, the radiography of the affected area. In some cases, an MRI can be prescribed.

Pathologies of a degenerative nature arise as a result of traumas, metabolic disturbances, which provoke congestion in the joint cavities of various harmful substances and compounds. To the causes of these pathologies include hormonal disorders, increased stress, various inflammations. It should be said that arthrosis can affect absolutely any joint in the body.
