early years

Vladimir Rogovoy was born in Kiev. But even before the war, the family moved to Izhevsk. The parents of the future cinematographer were physicians. In the capital of Udmurtia, Horny was invited because of a shortage of doctors. Vladimir's childhood passed in a small, two-story house, the inhabitants of which were exclusively medical workers. War

Vladimir Rogovoy - the director, who today is remembered, above all, thanks to the picture "Officers". He made several military films. Rogovoy knew about the events that these films reflected, not by hearsay. He was barely eighteen when the war began. The future director, like other young men living in the neighborhood, went to the front as a volunteer.

In 1943, Rogov experienced an event that he remembered until the last days of his life. In the dugout, three: the company commander, political instructor and Vladimir. They are twenty-five years old. The older comrades talk about the fact that they can not live to win. It's a pity ... Vladimir is optimistic.
