Childhood and youth.

Diego Frank Engilio was born on March 3, 1941 in Sumter, South Carolina. Father Frank Engilio (1860-1946) was a poor shoemaker, the mother of Phoebe Maretz (1879-1930) was a laundress from a poor family. The life of the young poet was poor, and apart from street fights he did not really see anything. In 1945, a year before the death of his father, Diego was given to a shelter, where he was trained to read and write.

A life. Creation.

In 1965, Diego Vecskoy publishes his story "Creaking pair of boots" in one far from popular magazine. This story does not bring the author any money or fame. Other parts of his work were subjected to the same fate.

Diego was not perceived as a writer and poet, and he immigrated to Russia in 1968. In Russia, he finds a place in the city of Labytnangi, in the Tyumen region. In the same place he finds real friends - Maxim Prokhorov and Avdot Fadeev. Here he publishes his stories in small editions (less than 500 copies) under the pseudonym Diego Vecskoy. Most of the works are written just for themselves and some of them are read in the circle of friends. He also begins to be fond of hunting and fishing, which will result in the production of "The Tale of the Snow-White Yaz", "Yaz", " How I Moose Moose", "Oh, where is my youth" and his poem: "The Fish of My Dreams" .
