In 1987, he created a computer cooperative called "Byte", which later became part of the joint venture "Synthesis Corporation." In 1992, he founded a company in Odessa called "Synthesis Oil" and started to transport oil and oil products, which was his first step to a secure future.

Darya's mother, Elena Zhukova, studied molecular biology and virology at the Central Institute of Blood Transfusion and Hematology of the Ministry of Health of the USSR from 1979 to 1990.
