Cypress tree - a particularly revered tree in Japan

Homeland of evergreen coniferous plants of the genus cypress is North America, they also occur in East Asia. They are distinguished by a high crown in the form of a cone and drooping branches, which are covered with a brown bark, cracked into separate strips.

The genus consists of 7 species, the most common of them in the culture is the "cypress barley" variety. All varietal plants of this kind are extremely decorative, have a beautiful appearance, different sizes and coloring of needles. They are well established in Europe, but on the Russian expanses, where the climate is more severe, this is still problematic.

Chicken fowl

This is a widespread plant on the Japanese islands of Honshu and Hokkaido, growing in coniferous broad-leaved forests. In mountainous areas it is found up to 500 meters above sea level. It grows well on moist soils, but it does not survive well on calcareous soils. It is a tree of great height with a conical crown in which the outstretched branches are placed horizontally. Smooth bark has a reddish-brown color. In the natural habitat multiplies by seeds. Poorly tolerates insufficient humidity.

Reverence and use

In Japan, a pea beetle belongs to a particularly revered plant. He is often planted near temples, near Buddhist monasteries and around dwellings. It is used not only in group plantings, but also in solitary ones. A huge variety of forms, a sufficiently high resistance of some of them to frost and low humidity allowed to significantly expand the boundaries of cultivation. The abundance of decorative forms contributed to the fact that the kiparisovik peas began to be used much more often. In Japan, managed to bring out more than a hundred varieties of this tree. Most of them have good decorative data. Nearly two dozen promising varieties of this remarkable plant have been successfully tested in the central strip of Russia. Many of them showed themselves on the best side, demonstrating absolute reliability in our difficult climatic conditions.

Cypress charcoal "boulevard"

This variety has such magnificent decorative advantages that it tries to breed, despite some unreliability. Although his life does not exceed ten years, with proper care, he can please the horticulturist twice as much. And since "boulevard" perfectly cuttings, during this time you can manage to grow many new seedlings. This variety is characterized by a dense crown of a tutonic form.
