Cumin sand: description of the plant, application in folk medicine

This plant is well known in folk medicine and is most often used as a cholagogue, but it also has other properties. Among people, it has several names: sandy cumin, immortelle, sandy sushi, annual annual suck, shoposhay, yellow cat's feet and others.

Description of the plant

This herbaceous, wild plant is perennial. It refers to the family of Compositae. Depending on the place of growth, the cyme can reach a height of 10 to 50 cm. Its roots are woody, dark, with a brown tinge. The stems of the plant are straight, branching closer to the inflorescence, forming a kind of umbrella. They are covered with small hairs. Leaflets begin at the base, grow all over the stem. They have an elongated shape, the tips are slightly pointed, just like the stem, they are covered with fluffy hairs. Flowers of small size, spherical-tubular form, are collected on the top of the stem with a bouquet. They are golden-orange, lemon-yellow, rarely - brick. The time of flowering falls in June-August, in some places, October seizes.

Where it grows

Sand dune does not like moist soil. It well tolerates the drought period. The soil for it must be predominantly sandy. The plant can be found in open sunny meadows, fringes, slopes, meadows and among young pine trees. Although it can grow among the old thinned pine trees, it will not bloom there. In large quantities, cyme grows on the territory of Ukraine, also occurs in the European part of Russia, in Southern and Western Siberia, Belarus, Central Asia and less often in the Caucasus.
