Cubic root of the number

Almost every person dreams to improve, go to something more serious and complicated. Everyone does it their own way. Some are looking for a job where, in time, they will take leadership positions, others will simply earn more money. It has always been believed that the smarter the person, the more he will achieve. But there are also those who improve their mind and perfect the art of calculation. The cube root (its calculation) is one of the most common ways to "put brains in order".

Since ancient times it has been thought that training the mind is the way to gain wisdom. The ancient Greeks, who reached great heights in mathematics, said that "every man is born a wise man, but not everyone can find him inside himself." Recently it has become very popular to develop the ability to conduct complex, and sometimes cumbersome calculations in the mind. Cubic root, which is not so easy to calculate, if the number is large enough - one of the ways. There are several common options for extracting a cube root from a number. Consider a couple.

Method number 1

Sometimes you can find posters saying that one person carries out the most complex calculations in his mind, including calculating the cubic root. For a while, it was unclear how this was done, but here is the algorithm of calculation known, and everyone can flash with their skills.

The extraction of the cubic root is carried out by "cutting off the number". First you need to remember one simple pattern: the last digits and the result of the cube, for some numbers, namely 1, 4, 5, 6 and 9 are the same. Let's look at a concrete example. Suppose we need to extract a cubic root from the number 85 184. Consider the largest group in a given number - thousands, this is 85. Which number in the cube will give the closest value to 85 but will not surpass it? This number is 4. Now consider the remaining numbers 184. Notice that it ends at 4. The only single-digit number that gives the 4th degree at the end of a multi-digit number is the number 4. It turns out that the answer to the question is Number 44. Multiply it by yourself 2 times (44x44x44) and get 85184.

Method number 2

The cubic root can also be extracted by expanding the number in a Taylor series. However, this option is much more complicated than the previous one. We need a clear knowledge of the decomposition formula, and all operations will have to be calculated not in the mind, but on paper. Since the cubic root is the raising of a number to the power of 1/3, we perform calculations with the construction of the number 5. Putting this number into a Taylor series, we get the answer, with a miserable error. However, calculations had to be done a lot. Therefore, this method is not the most profitable from the point of view of saving time. After all, if the number is very large, then it will take a lot of effort to solve

There is of course one more way, a calculator. On engineering calculators it is possible to extract a cubic root from the number at the click of a button. As already mentioned above, there are a lot of ways to extract a cube root from a number. And all the time there are enthusiasts who are trying all the new and new options. Now, if you want, you can find tables with the value of the cubic roots of all numbers. You can do it yourself, for fun or for "brainwashing", make up your own table. Of course, this business is not one day, but this pastime can be turned into an interesting and fairly rare hobby. After all, an account, no matter what, is a very good training for the mind. The most important thing is not how and what you think, but whether you do it at all. All people are unique, there are unique people who make all the most complicated calculations in their minds. This gift from them by nature. Yet the rest can develop these abilities in themselves. Try, and maybe you are next, who will come up with another way of how to calculate the cubic root of the number.
