The ancient Greeks as the founders of modern civilization

Compared with the earliest civilizations, the ancient Greeks appeared on the pages of world history not so long ago. This Mediterranean state is born approximately in the eighth century BC, and the first stage of its existence is the archaic period, which lasted only a few centuries. However, even in such a short period of time, people living in the territory of Southern Europe, could invent many things, without which even now it would be impossible to imagine our being. Being actually on the border of the Western and Southern Ancient Worlds, Hellas (this is what the Greeks call their country to this day) has become a stronghold of culture and science. It was the myths of the ancient Greeks, their philosophical teachings and religion that served as the basis for world religions, literary and pictorial works that were written in the future.

Hellas is a country that has always been different from all other states and people's communities. Its main feature can be considered the language used by the ancient Greeks back in those distant times in almost the form in which it is common today. Both the grammar and all the letters of the alphabet in this script do not resemble either Eastern manuscripts or European ones. However, at the same time it was the Greek language that formed the basis of many others. There were many reasons for this, and one of them was the Great Greek colonization, which allowed this people to settle as much as possible along the Mediterranean coast, and also to master the waters of neighboring seas. Monuments of the ancient ancient world of Hellenes can be found on the southern shores of Europe, and in the Eastern Mediterranean, and in Africa, and even on the shores of the Black Sea.

The life of such a people as the ancient Greeks reflects the history of eternal political change. It can trace the periods of terrible tyranny and despotism, and the times when the inhabitants themselves stood in power. In this country it was for the first time decided to convoke the people's congresses, which were held on the Agora. True, then the policy of the ancient Greeks called something that allows you to feel protected and at the same time free. Therefore, this aspect of the life of the state was closely connected with philosophy, and with mythology. Thanks to its natural wealth, multiplied by the great creative potential, Greece became the world trade center. This was also facilitated by the very favorable location of the country through which the way from the West to the East lay. Therefore, over the centuries, Hellas has absorbed the traditions of various peoples of the Ancient World, thereby replenishing its own cultural potential.

With the onset of a new era, the ancient Greeks were already one of the most developed ethnoses on the planet. Science and art flourished in Hellas, and along with this, there were always wars that allowed the expansion of the territory, adding to it new provinces and colonies. This period is also famous for outstanding personalities, among which Alexander the Great, his father Philip the Second, the brilliant mathematician Archimedes and philosopher Aristotle should be mentioned . Of course, to fit in a few lines the whole history of the Achaean people is impossible, since it is covered in those artifacts and architectural monuments that have reached our days from that ancient world.
