Constellations of the autumn sky and their "sights"

It is noteworthy that it is possible to get acquainted with the night sky at any time of the year. Of course, the division into seasons is very arbitrary.

"Star" birds and animals

During this period, you can study the constellations of the autumn sky. For children, the process of acquaintance with such mythical heroes as Perseus, Andromeda and Cassiopeia will be cognitive. And with amazing "star" animals - mythical Pegasus, curly Aries and a small reptile Lizard, as well as marine creatures Kit and Pisces.

The brightest observed constellations of the autumn sky are Cassiopeia, Pisces, Pegasus and Andromeda. It is in the autumn that these four asterisks are clearly visible in clear nighttime weather.

The brightest constellations and stars of the autumn sky

One of the total number of objects of the autumn sky - Pegasus - is most visible in this period of the year. The winged horse, resembling a square in shape, consists of four brightest stars. It contains the Arabic names Sheath, Macrab, Algenib and Alferac. The constellation Pegasus has a handle consisting of three luminaries emerging from the upper left corner of the square. Two of them also have the names: Alamak and Mirah. It is interesting that the square and the handle together have some similarities with the copy of the Big Bucket located in the constellation Ursa Major. The "handle" also refers to the asterisk of Andromeda.

Pegasus and the nearest galaxy

Andromeda in its form resembles an inverted letter "A", attached to the constellation Pegasus. The best time to observe Andromeda in the northern hemisphere is the November period. In the night sky, in this group of stars, the nearest galaxy M 31 is clearly visible.

"Monsieur 31" (or the Andromeda galaxy) refers to a spiral type, as well as the Milky Way. It is located approximately 25,000 light-years from Earth. The galaxy is visible to the unaided eye (in the form of a bright spot on a clear night).

Cassiopeia is an ancient constellation

North of Andromeda is another bright object - Cassiopeia. This ancient asterism was known back in ancient times. According to legend, Cassiopeia was considered the queen of Ethiopia. Find this constellation easily enough. The autumn night sky is the most favorable time for observing this asterisk. Cassiopeia, consisting of five bright stars, has some similarities with the English letter "W".

Lost constellation of Pisces

The constellation of Pisces is represented by a pair of "fish". They are subdivided into northern and western, they are united by one point in the tail. Discovering the constellation of Pisces is a little more complicated than Cassiopeia, because of the greater dispersion of the stars along the observed territory of the night sky. Has a weaker group of stars in terms of luminosity. In its form it resembles "V" and borders on the square of Pegasus and the asterisk of Aries.

This is not all the constellations of the autumn sky. At this time of year you can observe quite a lot of beautiful and mysterious objects.

The Second Sun in the Constellation of China

Under the asterisk Pisces is the constellation of China. There are no bright lights in it. But despite this, there is an interesting long-period variable star - Mira Kita. Sometimes it shines, not yielding to the brightness of the luminaries of Pegasus, and sometimes completely disappears from appearances. The constellation has another attraction, it's the star of the t-sha. By its physical characteristics, it resembles our Sun and refers to the nearest star, similar to our luminary.

Aries, Perseus and Lizard

In the south-eastern part of the autumn sky is a pair of curious objects - Aries and Perseus.

Just below the handle of Andromeda two stars are clearly visible. These are the clearest objects of the constellation of Aries. They received the names Sheratan and Hamal. The remaining lights of Aries are dim and often unobtrusive.

Asterisk Perseus contains the brightest star - Mirfak, which is his alpha. It is also considered the brightest of all the constellations of the autumn sky. Among other things, it is in this place is located a double cluster - Hee and Ash. They are among the most attractive clusters of the sky.

The smallest and inconspicuous constellation of the autumn sky is the Lizard. It does not contain enough bright objects. It consists of only five stars of the fourth magnitude. In form it resembles a "snake". The Lizard borders on the left side with the asterisk of Cassiopeia, and below it are constellations of Pegasus and Andromeda.

Not only the constellations of the autumn sky, but also of another season, are attractive to curious researchers of the space of our cosmos.
