Colony of strict regime: is there life behind barbed wire
Everyday life of a free person is filled with bright colors and amazing events, new discoveries, small joys, plans for the future. In our power to make every new day rich and unique, but for constant business and concern, we simply forget about it. But there are people somewhere who can give everything in order to spend at least one day in the status of a free person. Their destiny was forever crossed out by three words that chilled the blood: a colony of strict regime. Is there life behind barbed wire? We will try to answer this difficult question.
The correctional colony of strict regime consists of three separate territories, differing in their conditions of detention. As a rule, newly arrived prisoners are kept in ordinary conditions, assuming the existence of necessary housing and communal goods. They are also given the opportunity to communicate with relatives and close people by:
- Correspondence;
- Receipt and dispatch of parcels, money transfers and transfers;
- Telephone conversations;
- Dates.
After 9 months, convicts can be transferred from ordinary conditions of detention to facilitated ones. But this happens only in the absence of penalties for violation of order and conscientious attitude to work. Convicted persons, recognized as serious violators of the established order, can be transferred to strict conditions. Among the main objectives is
- Ensuring the safety of other prisoners;
- Making the educational process more effective;
- Suppression of negative influence on other convicts.
The correctional colony of strict regime is equipped with special hostels for the maintenance of prisoners. In addition to the bedrooms, the buildings also include educational rooms , locker rooms, common rooms, dining rooms, showers and toilets, dryers for shoes and clothes. The women's security colony is equipped with personal hygiene facilities.
The convicts, who are kept in strict conditions, are subject to certain legal restrictions. The colony of strict regime includes isolated premises intended just for such prisoners. Behind their behavior, increased supervision and control is established. Content in strict conditions significantly limits the possibility of movement within the colony, and also entails a ban on communication with other convicts. It is allowed to receive only 2 programs or 2 packages per year, as well as 1 long-term and 2 short visits. In addition, persons serving a sentence in strict conditions are entitled to a daily one and a half hour walk.
