Chronic cold and snot in the throat

How often do we get irritated by the endless snot in the throat that occur during the runny nose (the most common cause of snot in the throat). They are caused by the chronic course of the disease.

Occurrence of a chronic rhinitis is promoted by:

  • Inhaled air with a large amount of harmful impurities in it;
  • Persistent constipation;
  • Severe cardiac and renal disorders;
  • Pathological phenomena in the respiratory tract;
  • A sharp, often repeated rhinitis.

Chronic rhinitis is a prolonged inflammatory process of the nasal mucosa, and it occurs due to the environment (gases, moist air, dust), as well as various microbes on the nasal mucosa. Sores in the throat and their number directly depend on these factors.

Chronic rhinitis can be a manifestation of chronic sinusitis, etmoiditis, as well as a complication of an acute rhinitis carried over earlier.

Types of chronic cold

Rhinitis is classified into several types:

  • Atrophic;
  • Hypertrophic;
  • Catarrhal (snot in the throat is often found at this type);
  • Allergic chronic rhinitis.

With an allergic rhinitis, there is a "shift" of the local immune system, which appears against the background of an infectious chronic inflammatory process in the nasal mucosa. As a rule, this occurs in those moments when the mucosa painfully responds to certain allergens.

Once the allergen gets inside the mucous, an instant allergic reaction (attacks of rhinitis) occurs. As can be seen from practice, in the first place, this allergic process occurs after a long chronic inflammation in the nasal mucosa, then allergy attacks appear. Difficulty breathing, sneezing, and abundant mucous discharge are the main manifestations of allergic rhinitis. Why did we pay so much attention to allergic rhinitis? The fact is that with allergies very often there is increased secretion of mucus. Snot on the back wall flow into the throat, delivering unpleasant sensations to the person.

So, you learned about the types of the common cold, now it is worth considering the symptom symptom in the throat. Together with the common cold, rhinosinusitis may occur. And if it is not cured, the snot in the throat will constantly disturb the patient. The aerodynamics of the nose is disturbed.

The same goes for too long using vasoconstrictive drops - their use leads to a disruption of the functions of the nasal mucosa, the mucus accumulates and flows down into the throat. This is due to swelling of the sinuses, in simple terms, they serve as a "reservoir" where liquid masses accumulate. They are flowing down their throats.

A common reason for the appearance of snot in the throat, in addition to the chronic cold, is chronic pharyngitis. Soply have a viscous consistency, they are difficult to cough, the voice changes and hoarseness appears.

It is necessary to hand over a smear from the pharynx for specification of the diagnosis, probably, on a mucous there lives a fungus provoking formation of slime. Fungus, multiplying, "settles" on the mucosa, the snot linger on the growth of the fungus and delivers a sensation of congestion of mucus in the throat.

Treatment of chronic colds

In the first place, eliminate the likely endo- and exogenous factors that cause and maintain a persistent runny nose. Then a complex of medical preparations is individually selected for each type of chronic rhinitis.

What can you do about the throat in the throat?

  • Lubrication with peach oil (softens the throat and prevents the accumulation of mucus in the throat, removes unpleasant sensations, the snot drips down the back wall without difficulty);
  • At an allergic rhinitis special antihistamine (antiallergic) agents are appointed;
  • Antibiotic therapy (prescribed by a doctor, only according to indications.) This can be amoxiclav, macrolides, etc.);
  • Inhalation (drugs will also be prescribed by a doctor).

Most importantly - do not try to endure or independently prescribe yourself a cure, and seek help from a specialist (ENT doctor).
