Chevrolet SS - hiding under the hood of Bumblebee

For the most part, the name of almost every car concern contains the name of its creator. However, there are exceptions. For example, the manufacturer of the chic Chevrolet SS named its offspring in honor of the famous rider, who helped to create the first model of the concern. The founder of the company, William Durand, did not particularly bother with creating his trademark . As early as the beginning of the 20th century, as an amateur for traveling, he often visited Paris. It was there, in one of the hotels, he was attracted by a pattern on the wallpaper. Keeping a piece of the ornament on which the cross was depicted, Durand used it in 1914 as the company's logo, which adorns all the cars of the concern, including the Chevrolet SS.

The appearance of this world-famous car brand came to the second decade of the 20th century. It was then that the first "steel horse", created by the famous racer Louis Joseph Chevrolet and William Duran - Chevrolet Classic-Six, was released on the podium. It is this device that is the great-grandfather of not only Chevrolet SS, but also all cars produced by the concern. The development and establishment of the company was greatly influenced by the historical period - the First and Second World Wars affected all branches of production, including the creation of cars.

With the tenacity of the rhinoceros, the company paved its way to the stars. The release of the first model Chevrolet Classic-Six, which did not please the Americans because of the high price level, was followed by the release of Chevrolet-490 with a three-speed gearbox. It was this model that became the debut of the manufacturers, who showed themselves in a new role - as manufacturers of cheap and simple machines. It was after the triumphant seizure of the car market by this tiny affordable device that Duran decided to join his giant General Motors to just started the company Chevrolet. Before the merger of the two companies, the tiny organization released two more models - the H series and Little Six. A huge number of fantastic cars, such as Suburban Carryall, Corvette, Impala and others, have gained popularity throughout the American continent.

1966 became explosive in the development of the concern: the entire population of the country was agitated by the appearance of the Chevrolet Camaro, the first pony car of General Motors. Such a success hardly anyone expected. This predatory sports car, made on the basis of a standard vehicle, won a huge number of sympathies, which resulted in a huge sale. For 1 year the concern sold more than 200 thousand copies of this "steel horse".

As an improved modification of the Camaro in 1967 debuted the Chevrolet SS. Under the hood of this temperamental handsome man hid the power of 220 "horses", which in unison worked with a sports engine V8. To withstand competition with other manufacturers of sports cars, the engineers of the company launched under the hood of this model eight-cylinder monsters with a volume of 5.4 liters, which tame the sternproof power of 375 hp. Ever since, the Chevrolet Camaro has been one of the most beloved sports cars not only for Americans, but also for the whole world.

After a break in the release of this model, which lasted 8 years, a new modification appeared on the arena - the Chevrolet Camaro SS of 2010, which is the fifth generation of the legendary sports car. In addition to the predatory version of the SS, the car was also produced in versions LS and LT, which had a smaller engine than the "brother".

The 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS has the bestial power of a 6.2-liter engine, powered by 426 "horses". As Beethoven's fifth symphony, the blood-stirring V8 engine melody sounds in unison with the six-speed manual gearbox, making you think that maybe this particular powerful device is the famous Bumblebee.
