Cherry tomatoes: varieties and characteristics

The fastest of all groups of tomatoes can be called "cherry" or as they are also called, "cherry". Even the smallest of them ripen after 95-100 days, and the shortest ones even faster - for 75-80 days.

The tomatoes of this group are distinguished by a small mass of stems and leaves. Therefore, "cherry" can be kept in pots until the fruit begins to be tied. Due to the fact that the bushes are very compact and decorative, they look great in the garden or in the pot.

In the fruits of "cherry" contains an incredibly large amount of dry matter, for example, sugar. Thanks to this, cherry tomatoes can be kept for a long time. The main thing is to observe the correct temperature regime: room.

Cherry tomatoes, which are called very productive varieties, are unpretentious plants with 20 or more fruits in their brushes.

"Cherry" can be grown both at home and in the open. Care and the principle of planting in all varieties of tomato "cherry" is approximately the same. But at the same time they all have their own subtleties, which must be taken into account.

The best varieties of tomato "cherry" can give a very good harvest of small fruit. They differ in the "friendship" of ripening, because of this "cherry" is so fond of gardeners. This variety of tomatoes can be marinated, salted or eaten fresh.

There are several varieties of tomatoes, for example, cherry tomatoes. Some of them can grow more than a meter in height. If you have a desire to grow tomatoes at home, it is better to pay attention to cherry tomatoes, whose varieties are stunted, whose height usually does not reach 40 cm.

Cultivation of tomatoes

If you decide to grow cherry tomatoes at home, sow their seeds in flowerpots or boxes. Then thoroughly watered with warm water and tightly covered with food film. Please note that such tomatoes are coming up very quickly, so be prepared to see the first sprouts already in 4 days.

Do not thin out the seedlings as soon as it grows a little. Do not do this until the seedlings are still very small, because you need to select and leave only the strongest of them.

If you initially planted the seeds quite far apart, you do not have to thin them. If you grow tomatoes in pots, leave only one plant. Otherwise the seedlings will strongly prevent each other from growing.

Do not forget about the periodic loosening and watering of the soil, in which the "cherry" sprouts. And when the flowering period comes, pollinate tomatoes with "ovary". Do not forget about fertilizer, they also need it.

It is best to buy a fertilizer complex. That's just before you start to use, you must necessarily learn everything that is written on the package. Fertilizer too often is not worth it, enough once in 2-3 weeks.

If you grow tall tomatoes, be sure to insert pegs into the container where they grow, otherwise the stems can simply break down under the weight of the fruit.

If your choice is low - growing varieties of cherry tomatoes, forget about the garter, they just do not need it.

You can not go in for "cherry." But only if the plant becomes too branchy, will have to cut unnecessary branches. Remember that stepchildren grow between a stem and a real leaf. Therefore, do not cut the main leaves, otherwise the tomato will bear fruit poorly or even become sick.

A few months after you planted the plants, you will notice that they have formed fruits. "Cherry" ripen quite quickly, and fruit one bush can about six months. Once the fruits are ripe, you can collect them. If the care of the plant is correct, you will get a good harvest.
