Cherry strudel - rules of preparation

Strudel is considered to be one of the most delicious desserts of Czech and Austrian cuisine. However, any mistress can cook a delicious cherry strudel! Our recipes will be useful for those cooks who want to learn how to cook strudel.

The classic cherry strudel is prepared as follows. We will need three hundred grams of wheat flour, one hundred grams of butter, about twenty milliliters of vegetable oil, one third of a glass of water, a pinch of salt, a kilo of cherry, a hundred grams of sugar, five tablespoons of breadcrumbs, and fifteen grams of vanilla sugar and twenty-five grams of ground cinnamon . To begin with, sift the flour and mix it with salt, then add vegetable oil and pre-melted butter into the flour, mix. Knead the dough by adding the right amount of hot water a little. The dough should be smooth, elastic, homogeneous, and it should not stick to the hands. Make a dough from the dough, anoint it with vegetable oil, then cover it with a towel and leave it for half an hour at room temperature.

For these half an hour, prepare a pan. You can do this in two ways: lay it with special baking paper or lightly oil it. When the dough is ready, roll it in a thin layer, so that a rectangle with a thickness of approximately 2-3 millimeters is obtained. Do not allow dough tearing! Then the dough should be separated from the surface on which you rolled it, and leave it to dry. During this time, you just have time to prepare the filling.

Take cherries, pre-peeled, sugar, biscuits, vanillin and cinnamon, mix all the ingredients. Sprinkle the dough with vegetable oil and put the filling on it. If the filling looks too raw for your taste, then sprinkle it with breadcrumbs. Then form a neat roll, put it on a baking tray and lightly spread it with vegetable oil.

The necessary temperature for baking the cherry strudel is 200-220 C. A quarter of an hour is enough. Readiness of the cherry strudel is checked with a wooden stick. When it is ready, grease it with butter and cover with a towel.

The classic cherry strudel is preferably served hot, sprinkled with powdered sugar and poured with whipped cream.

If you want something more original, then perhaps you will want to learn how to prepare a cherry strudel from a puff pastry. This is also nothing difficult! You will need a half-kilo of ready-made puff pastry, half a kilo of cherries, one hundred grams of sugar, thirty grams of butter, one and a half tablespoons of starch, three tablespoons of starch and powdered sugar. Apparently, the recipe for cherry strudel from puff pastry is not very different from the recipe of the usual strudel.

To begin with, you need to prepare cherries. After you clean them from the stones, place them in a colander and put a bowl under it, as you will need a cherry juice that is made from cherries. Stir this juice with sugar and heat it over a small fire until it boils. Then pour off some of the juice, add starch to the juice and stir until the mass becomes homogeneous. Pour this mass into the boiling syrup and wait until the mixture boils again. Then the syrup should be cooled, add it to the cherries, sprinkle with breadcrumbs and mix.

Further preparations should be made as in the previous recipe: the thinly rolled dough should be put out the filling, roll into a roll and bake in an oven preheated to 200-220 ° C for a quarter of an hour until the cherry strudel is ready. In conclusion, the cherry strudel from the puff pastry can also be sprinkled with powder and pour with whipped cream!
