Catching a thick-brow

Silverfish is a large representative of peaceful fish, which is quite capricious in nature, during the voyage has a powerful resistance. That's why catching a fathead is considered one of the most interesting and unpredictable.

Initially, this fish inhabited the Amur River basin, but today, as a result of acclimatization, it can be found almost in all the reservoirs of the European part of our country, even in medium-sized ponds, wherever there is enough fodder base.

As a rule, catching a thick-bass is carried out from the end of May to September. The peak of good catch is in the middle of June and the end of July, although if the pond in which this fish lives is rich in natural food, it will ignore any lure and will be interested in it when natural food is reduced.

This fish rarely bites at night, although bites are not ruled out.

Catching a thick-bass is best performed on relatively small, rocky water bodies, where it is easier to find a flock, with sharp depth changes and shallows. The most important thing is that there are not enough carp in it, which all the time pecking and preventing to catch a certain large prey.

Fishing places should be chosen based on the following signs:

- the bottom of the pond must be sandy or stony;

- Optimal depth - two to three meters;

- headwind;

- lack of calm, because Carp is not biting at this time;

Usually it is caught on spinning or bottom tackle, however, in the opinion of avid anglers, the most working one is a spring - something intermediate between the feeder with a spring feeder and a stick.

Fishing for the spring is done in the following way: this type of bottom tackle is clogged by a viscous bait, and the beads of foam are put on the hooks, so that the hooks with leashes have good buoyancy. The number of leashes varies from two to three pieces, and their length is from 5 to 7 centimeters.

The most important thing is that the spring bait is perfectly matched, the leash and the hook are thin and strong.

Catching a thick-fang will be most successful in case of using plant baits, in particular, young boiled or canned peas. It is good, if it is possible to mask the hooks with filamentous algae.

This fish usually takes the nozzle and eats it swiftly, and if the hook is not sharp enough, then, sensing the injection, it will immediately spit it out, and the pack will immediately float away to another place.

If the carver has swallowed the bait, then the line is stretched, and then, after weakening for a second, it again jerks sharply. They cut at the very first moment of tension, otherwise the further success of the fight will be on the side of the fish.

The next nozzle that works well is a kind of "sandwich": several corn kernels are poured onto the hook, which are taken out to the leash, then "sausage" from makuhi and clay is sent there, then three more corn before the hook and three already on it. Convenience is that the need for a sinker is discarded, and "sausage" serves also as a lure.

However, the most "respected" among anglers is the catching of a thick-brow in technoplankton, which looks like pressed into small barrels of powder. When a tablet of such bait falls into the water, it dissolves and forms a cloud, very similar to natural plankton.

The number of tablets needed for each hook is two or three pieces, which, hoping for it, do not let it lie to the bottom. The scent of the soaked technoplankton attracts the carver, which greedily sucks it along with the foam and crochet.

Do not forget that the resistance of this fish is rather unusual, it is very different, therefore, no matter how fatigued the carver is, it is not recommended to take it with your bare hands, so as not to injure them during the sudden movements of the caught prey. It is best to use a hag.

In winter, the carnivore usually goes into deep holes in a state of hibernation, although in some comparatively warm water bodies it retains a certain activity, and at that time it can be caught from the ice.
