Capsule hotels: will they settle down in Russia?

Capsule hotels are an innovation for Rossi, but it has long been commonplace for the inhabitants of Japan. Back in 1979 in Osaka was opened the first hotel with cells instead of numbers. Since that time in the Land of the Rising Sun this kind of hotels is quite common.

What are the capsule hotels?

The Japanese are simply in love with their work, so as not to waste time on trains and trains, they prefer to save time and spend the night in a capsule. Thus, they may not appear at home for weeks, without feeling bad at the same time.

This kind of hotel consists of blocks, which, as a rule, stand in two tiers, where cells of a very small size are placed. In such a capsule, there is enough room for sleep, and also you can sit here (it will not work). The hotel room is equipped with a TV, an alarm clock and a mirror. Also in the hotel there is WiFi with Internet access (this service is usually free). There is one bathroom for all guests. Night in such a room costs about 20-40 dollars.

Capsule hotels have long been interested in America and many Asian countries. In Costa Rica, by the way, built a hotel right on the plane. In megacities, investors are attracted by this kind of hotels due to an impressive reduction in construction costs.

Progress has reached us

Russia, too, decided to keep up and built two hotel-capsules. One of them, called "Sleepbox Hotel", is located on the 1st Tverskaya-Yamskaya street near the Belorussky railway station. This hotel, however, is not very similar to the similar Japanese capsule hotel. Moscow presented a slightly different version: hotel rooms are more like a compartment car or cabin liner, rather than a tiny cell purely for sleeping.

The Moscow budget hotel consists of so-called slipboxes, that is, of capsule rooms. The hotel administration assures that their rooms are more comfortable than traditional capsule hotels in Japan. Inside some mini-rooms there is a shower, toilet and a wardrobe. Such slabboksy made of plastic and wood are made, ventilation is installed inside, so the air here is always clean. For each visitor in the room there is a folding table for the laptop and two sockets. There are also several double rooms.

Of course, the cost of living in the slipbox is higher than in Japanese tight compartments (starting from 2600 rubles and above).

Another similar hotel is at the airport Sheremetyevo. It is located directly in the airport complex. Therefore, passengers in anticipation of their flight can comfortably relax "without departing from the ticket office." The size of the mobile room is 2х1.4 meters. The main element of the box is, of course, a lounger, which provides the function of automatic change of clothes. The room is equipped with ventilation, TV, sound notification, sockets and WiFi. Possible time in capsule is from 15 minutes to several hours.

At the airport, Domodedovo, probably, will not soon be a capsule hotel. Domodedovo has not yet adopted the idea with the arrangement of slipboxes.

Whatever they say, but it is unlikely that sleeping cells will be the same in demand as in Japan. Most likely, in the future their creation will continue, but in a small amount. Since the Russian soul does not like being in crowded places!
