Can I remove moles?

If you meet a man with no birthmark on his body, then you have come across an alien. Because all earth inhabitants are "labeled" by these specks. Some have a lot of them, and some have not enough. Some are dissatisfied with how moles are reflected in their appearance, others, on the contrary, would not refuse a flirtatious "fly" over the lip, and the third and there is absolutely no concern for these marks. The last, perhaps, the majority, but it happens that some birthmark begins to deliver to its owner certain inconveniences: then it is rubbed with clothes, it begins to change color or shape. And then the person is asked by a logical question: is it possible to remove moles?

Let's first understand what it's all about - moles. Physicians call them pigment nevi. Among human cells there are those that are responsible for the production of a certain pigment - melanin, on which the coloration of the skin depends. They are called melanocytes. When such cells accumulate together, they form a mole.

The usual birthmark is a small spot, up to half a centimeter in diameter, slightly raised above the surface of the skin. Its color and convexity depends on how deep the skin layer lies in the nevus cells. In an innocuous "calm" mole, the texture repeats the skin pattern, color uniform, often straight through it hairs grow unhindered. All this indicates the absence of any anomaly.

To show concern and wonder whether it is possible to remove moles, it is worthwhile in those cases when the mark already in adulthood appeared where it had not existed before. It is necessary to pay attention to changes in "old" moles, if suddenly one of them starts to increase rapidly or change color, the skin pattern on its surface will be replaced by an even "glossy" coating or incomprehensible knotty formations, hairs will fall out. All this - a suspicious behavior for nevus, which may indicate the development of it in melanoma. Among the "bad" symptoms are also any changes in shape, redness of the surrounding area, wetting the surface or bleeding. But when it dries, the mole sometimes can simply fall off on its own, but it is more reliable to consult with a specialist in this case.

Inflammation, fraught with the transformation of a harmless speck in an ominous tumor, can be provoked by physical effects. So, if a person injures a birthmark, he needs to immediately see a doctor.

In general, with cases when any pathology is observed, everything is clear - you should not take risks, they do not joke with oncology. And is it possible to remove birthmarks for aesthetic reasons or when they simply interfere - say, constantly rubbed? In general, of course, it is possible - modern medicine has for this purpose even several effective methods. But this operation should be preceded by consultation of a dermatologist, and ideally - by a dermo-oncologist. The research of the nevus will be useful not only for the purpose of excluding oncology, but also for choosing the method of removal. After all, in one case, enough electrocoagulation - instantaneous cutting of the mole with a current of high frequency with simultaneous "sealing" the skin, and in another it will be necessary for the surgeon to take up the scalpel. Do not be scared - both these operations are conducted under local anesthesia and do not represent complexity. But with large moles, the situation is not so simple - here already use a laser or liquid nitrogen, and such procedures can have contraindications, which is why preliminary consultation is needed.

One tip you can get right now. When asked whether it is possible to remove birthmarks on their own, there are three possible answers: no, for nothing and in no event. No extrusions, twists, cauterizations and other tweaks! And healers also do not need to be contacted, and why, when a graduate is certainly in every city.
