Bromhexine: instructions for use

"Bromheksin" - tablets that have an expectorant effect. In one tablet of the drug contains 4 or 8 mg of the main active ingredient - bromhexine hydrochloride.

The drug "Bromgexin" is able to reduce the viscosity of sputum due to its "loosening", as well as increasing the secretion of liquid bronchial secretions, which consists of neutral polysaccharides (viscous sputum in turn consists of acidic polysaccharides, and "Bromgexin" breaks the bonds between them). Due to its action, the sputum becomes liquid and clears throat without problems. In addition, "Bromhexin" stimulates the production of the necessary for proper operation of alveoli endogenous surfactant. Passing through the liver, "Bromhexine" is metabolized, resulting in the formation of ambroxol - an active metabolite, which has the same effect.

Then we will talk about how to take "Bromgexin", about indications for its use and contraindications, possible side effects. The method of administration and dosage will also be described.

" Bromhexine": instruction (special instructions)

Tablets should not be taken with drugs that block the cough reflex (for example, with "Kodelak", "Sinekodom", "Terpinkodom", "Libeksin" or "Stoptussinom"). Otherwise, there may be a danger of stagnation of viscous sputum, which can lead to the multiplication of pathogens of various infections or the increase of inflammation in the tracheobronchial tree.

Joint reception can take place only in the case of alternation of these drugs, when expectorants are used in the daytime, and antitussives in the night.

Today, bromhexine is included in the formulations of drugs produced by various pharmaceutical companies. Such drugs include "Ascorl", "Dzhoset", "Bromgexin Berlin Chemie", "Solvin".
