Antifungal vaginal suppositories "Lomexin": instructions for use

The drug "Lomexin" instruction defines as an antifungal agent having a large spectrum of usefulness and intended for local use in gynecology. The use of this drug, due to the properties of the active component - the synthetic imidazole derivative, has a pronounced antibacterial, fungistatic and fungicidal effect. The action of this fungistatic agent is based on the inhibition of the synthesis of ergosterol, which is responsible for regulating the permeability of the bacterial membrane.

This antifungal drug is produced mainly in the form of soft vaginal capsules of yellowish color. In the composition of suppositories, the main active ingredient is a substance such as fenticonazole nitrate. It can be contained in a volume of two hundred, six hundred, or thousand milligrams.

Depending on the dosage of the active ingredient, silicon dioxide, triglycerides of fatty acids, gelatin, titanium dioxide, ethylparahydroxybenzoate sodium, glycerol, sodium propyl parahydroxybenzoate, liquid paraffin, soy lecithin and white petrolatum may act as additional ingredients.

Use the vaginal suppositories "Lomexin" instruction advises in order to eliminate colpitis, vulvovaginal candidiasis or vaginal discharge. In addition, this antifungal drug is often prescribed for mixed infectious diseases provoked by Candida albicans and, for example, Trichomonas vaginalis. Patients with established vaginal trichomoniasis are also advised to start using this remedy.

Use the antifungal drug "Lomexin" recommends the instruction, as a rule, once, by inserting deeply into the vagina. However, in cases where the patient is experiencing the preservation of painful symptoms, it is possible to prolong the course of therapy for a maximum of three days.

As for capsules with a volume of one thousand milligrams, they are allowed to be used only for two days.

The manufacturer strictly prohibits this antifungal agent in the event that the patient has an allergic reaction to fenticonazole nitrate or an individual intolerance to any of the auxiliary components present in the formulation. Persons who have not reached the age of eighteen should also not use Lomexin candles.
