Biography of Hans Christian Andersen - real magic

The name of Hans Christian Andersen most of us know from childhood. About his life, he said that she is wonderful and beautiful, that even if in the children's years of distress for the family the Fairy Fairy offered him to choose a life for himself, the chosen one would not have been better lived anyway.

What was Andersen? Outwardly he was an awkward tall man with disproportionately long arms and legs, with a funny gait, because of which the boys gave him the nicknames "stork" and "lamppost". The life of Hans Christian Andersen is unusual for a great man. He was born in the family of a shoemaker and washerwoman in the provincial Danish town of Odense in 1805. Fairy tale and fantasy have always lived in this family. The father not only read to him from infancy the tales from the "Thousand and One Nights," he told the boy that in the veins of that royal blood flows. Most likely, it was a fantasy, in which Hans Christian Andersen genuinely believed . (A brief biography written by him personally claimed that the only childhood friend for him was Prince Frits.) However, we are talking about a mysterious person. Who knows, when the history of a person who knows how to light children's eyes, became a fairy tale, and when a reality? The fact remains that after the death of King Frederick VII (the name was given to Frits by the coronation), Andersen was the only person admitted to the coffin, except for the family.

The biography of Hans Christian Andersen is illuminated by the love of the theater. His favorite game was a home puppet theater, where the "actors" were homemade wooden dolls with patchwork garments. The boy for them came up with more and more new performances. But Hans learned to write and read only in 10 years. This was preceded by the following story. When his father gave up studying to the widow of a glover a few years earlier, that somehow (as was customary in the eighteenth century) punished him with rods. He did not tolerate violence. Hans, taking the primer under his arm, gradually, with his head held high, left forever the house of the tormentor.

The trouble came to the family when Andersen was 11 years old, - his father died suddenly. The child had to go to work to feed his family: first as an apprentice to the cloth factory, then - for tobacco.

The further biography of Hans Christian Andersen again becomes like a fairy tale. As his mother later recalled, a fortune teller in her presence, predicting the fate of her son, reported on the glory, about the monument in her lifetime. Somehow arrived puppet theater in the town needed an episodic actor-extras for the role of coachman. Hans happily took advantage of this opportunity. Giving home puppet shows in well-to-do Odense houses, he enlisted a letter of recommendation from the colonel in order to realize his dream of becoming an actor of the Royal Theater. Having bought his boots with money, fourteen-year-old Andersen went to Copenhagen. His mother allowed him to leave, hoping that soon Hans would return, because in the capital they had no relatives or acquaintances. Having told him about this, she asked the question: "Why are you going?" The teenager replied laconically and exhaustively: "To become famous!"

The dream came true: at first out of pity, and also thanks to the "theatrical" voice, the boy was accepted for episodic roles. When Hans turned into a young man, and his voice "broke", he was disappointed - dismissal from the theater for lack of prospects. But he was already noticed, thanks to an unusual fantasy. Familiar in the theater, the poet Ingemann, revealed the essence of the talent of Hans Christian Andersen - to be able to see for yourself and show your readers "in the gutter pearl". A talented boy was noticed and, through a satisfied petition to King Frederick VI, was given the opportunity to get an education for a state kost. Now Hans was full, dressed, and there was a roof over his head. But the awkward young man, chronically "not friends" with grammar, constantly faced criticism of teachers and classmates that were younger for six years. The great storyteller just wrote with grammatical errors until the end of his days!

Biography of Hans Christian Andersen as a writer begins in 25 years, after the publication of a fantastic story about the adventures of a romantic hero while sailing through the canals. Two years later, receiving a royal award, Hans Christian Andersen receives a powerful stream of impressions, traveling through Europe. Two years later, in 1835, he finally abandoned attempts to write plays and created the first cycle of his fairy tales.

The Danes were amazed and surprised. Many were perplexed: how could an ordinary person create such a miracle? After all, such stories can only be known to Ole Lukoie, who can hear the words of the Darning Needle, catch the thoughts of the Pink Bush, talk with little Thumbelina. The second cycle was published by him in three years. To the questions of journalists about where he draws the plots, Andersen usually was surprised and asked if they really did not notice anything. After all, if you take a good look and listen, every fence, every field flower tries to tell its story. Being famous, the writer nevertheless tried to return to the path of the theatrical dramatist. However, the attempt did not bring him success. In 1845 he created a third cycle of fairy tales.

Think, is not it a miracle - a single person is given the opportunity to create the folklore of a whole country and generously give it to his homeland ?! His "Snow Queen", "Little Mermaid", "Steadfast Tin Soldier", "Thumbelina", "Princess on the Pea" is known all over the world.

The biography of Hans Christian Andersen is life in a fairy tale. After his death in 1875 under his pillow friends found hand-written sheets with a new, almost written magical story.

The sculpture of his "Little Mermaid" became a symbol of Denmark. His birthday, April 2, is the International Children's Book Day.
