Bengal Cat - Grace and Perfection
It is impossible not to admire the amazing grace and beauty of Bengal cats. Her bright leopard color pleases the eye with her unusual. This is one of the rare breeds, the history of which is unique. The author of this unusual breed was a resident of the state of Arizona American Gene Mill. Crossing cats was one of the main activities of the girl. In the 60s, when she was on a business trip in Taiwan, she brought as a souvenir a small wild kitten of the species Felis Bengalensis. Jin introduced him to his homemade black cat, who later turned out to be the forefather of the modern breed of Bengal cat. After crossing the wild animal and the domestic cat, a beautiful cat appeared, which inherited beauty, as well as the unusual color of its mother. Once again having tied a black cat, only with a newly hatched cat, we got kittens with a beautiful leopard color and the character of a domestic cat. Officially, the "Bengali" breed was registered in 1983.
Bengal cat is a rare breed. It has a leopard color and is not at all aggressive. Males are larger in size than females and weigh up to 7 kg, while female breeds can weigh up to 4 kg. Bengal cats have three types of color: marble, spotted and spotted-rosette. From the wild ancestors, they inherited an unusual quality of color change depending on the lighting. The head is small in comparison with the body, and the muzzle is large and wide. Their hind legs are longer than the forelegs, and the tail is not too long and flat. The thick wool of Bengal to the touch is tender and silky.
Bengal cats are very smart, because they learn from people to open windows, doors, turn on the light. They are very loyal and are attached more often to one person. And yet these cats are very sociable and talkative. So during the meal they growl, and you can also hear how they make unusual for the cats sounds: twitter, screaming, creaking.
How can I take care of a Bengal cat? This breed of cats does not require special care. They are distinguished by strong health. Their hair is short, so it's very easy to take care of it. It is enough to periodically brush it with a special rubber brush. But it's also surprising that Bengal cats are not afraid of water at all and love to swim. It follows that there will be no problems with water procedures.
It is also known that Bengals love to "dig". Therefore, it is very easy to accustom them to the toilet. To do this, it is sufficient to purchase a larger toilet for them, the high walls of which prevent the cat from spreading the filler.
Feed the pet preferably with the food that the breeder will recommend. If you want to change the feed, then it should be done gradually for 5-7 days, since the Bengal cats have sensitive stomachs. Therefore, from the diet it is necessary to exclude food from our table, completely eliminate fried meat, sausage products, sweets and river fish. Also, experts do not advise mixing professional food and natural food. These cats are very fond of running water. Therefore, make sure that the pet had a special fountain.
Bengals are very good parents. Dad-cat, as well as mother, since the birth actively participates in education of kittens. Their offspring Bengal cats are nurtured 59 to 71 days. They usually have 2-5 kittens. We weigh kittens at birth from 75 to 130 grams. For about 10 days of their life they open their eyes. And already from the 23rd day they can be given meat. Cats do not grow as fast as cats. The adult cat becomes after the birth of the kittens.
There are still very few valuable specimens of the breed in Russia. I want to believe that this beautiful breed of cats will soon become popular.
