Bearded Agama is an interesting and even very funny lizard. If you keep it at home, you need to know that it is unpretentious. Bribes, as a rule, her unusual appearance. First of all, it's leathery spikes, which are located around the lizard's ears and on the head.

Those who have started such an animal, we must remember that it refers to heat-loving lizards, which lead an active daily life. The rhythm of his life depends very much on the temperature of the environment. For example, if an individual enters a medium that is too low or too hot, it is simply buried completely in the sand and enters a special state that looks like a dream - anabiosis.

The agama is a medium-sized beard, its torso is wide enough and flattened, like all lizards, but its head looks like a real triangle. Spines seem to mimic the beard and make the look simply fantastic, not for nothing that sharp Englishmen have nicknamed the harmless agama "bearded dragon".

Its habitat is dry semideserts. The adult specimen reaches 50 centimeters in length. The bearded agama is not a dragon, but a peace-loving and amusing animal that comes from Australia, from where it was taken to the continent.

Tell about what this amazing lizard, it is possible a lot, but it is better to see it. She has a very exotic appearance, dominated by brown and light brown in color with a beautiful geometric pattern on the back.

The males have a broader head and a thick tail, and the beard is bright and dark. The lizard can strongly inflate the throat and at the same time push forward an unusual throat fold forward. When the agave is going to defend itself, it inflates its body, and the thorns increase in size and are distributed to the sides.

But this is not the most interesting. A bearded agama can change its color, and it happens with her when she was frightened or disturbed something. This state is easy to determine. Sometimes you can see how our bearded agama begins to lighten, and its paws turn bright yellow or quite orange. This means that she is stressed. And the lizard changes its color simply by raising or lowering the temperature of the air in the apartment.

Agama bearded - not very expensive in the maintenance of the animal, because it eats plants and partly animal food. She gladly absorbs: crickets, zofobas with flour crunch and cockroaches. Of the plants, it suits the taste of salad leaves, carrots, grated pumpkin, dandelions. She does not like fruits, do not even offer.

In the drinker with water it is recommended to add vitamins, you need to do it once a week, but about water there are problems.

Bearded Agama, the content of which includes a plentiful drink, is heavily accustomed to drinking in a newborn age. That is why, her kids need to be taught to consume water. Make it easy with a syringe. Just splash it with water on the triangular muzzle of the lizard. It will take only a few days of water procedures, and agama will independently and with pleasure drink.

It is recommended to install a small pool in the terrarium for the comfort of these cute reptiles. Do not forget that they bathe in the water at a temperature of 28-33 degrees.

The bearded agama, whose content is quite simple, will present you with a couple of surprises. With proper care, it sheds quite often. This happens in this order - first the head, then the trunk itself and, lastly, the tail.

Remember the size of the terrarium where the agave will be. On average, it should be 80x45x45 (d / w / h). In the terrarium set snags for climbing, which must be strong, and build an animal shelter and set the drinkers. For comfort, you will also need a UV lamp with UVB of 8-10%. Include it should be for 10-14 hours a day.

Ensure humidity is not higher than 50% and make sure that in the coldest corner of the terrarium the air temperature is above 25 degrees.

Bearded Agama has long been a popular pet. With proper care, the animal will long please its presence and amusing kind of caring owner.
