What is industrial Barnaul famous for? CHP-2 in this city since 2012 is part of the joint-stock company "Barnaulskaya Generatsiya", which, in turn, was formed on the basis of the reorganized power company "Kuzbassenergo". The first thermal power plant was built in the 1930s and by the time indicated above it had exhausted its resource to the fullest extent - further use of the facilities was fraught with a significant risk of unforeseen situations. And in the distant 1955, the first boilers and steam turbine were started at this enterprise . Then the complex was called upon to provide the whole Barnaul with warmth and energy, it was with this launch that the unified power system of the region was born.

History of heat supply of the city

Barnaulskaya CHPP was built in accordance with the decision of the Council of Ministers of the USSR. Then, three boilers with a serious capacity of 170 tons of steam per hour were put into operation. Earned and three turbines, the total power of which was 75 mW. In the nineties of the last century, the capacities of CHPP-2 were transferred to the operation mode based on natural gas. In order to compensate for the old facilities that were disposed of, it was decided to introduce a new modern CHP plant into operation. The ninth block of the thermal power plant was inaugurated at the end of last year.

Recently, the Barnaul people celebrated the anniversary - with the sixtieth anniversary of workers in thermal power, congratulated their leaders from the Siberian Generating Company, as well as representatives of the local Altai administration. CHPP-2 is more than half a century old. The history of the enterprise was long, there were both ups and downs, moments of recovery from crisis situations. However, in spite of everything, today the enterprise can be proud of that worthy reputation which had to be deserved for years and decades.

Among the new challenges, according to station director Alexander Lukyanov, and the aging of equipment, and the need to introduce the latest technology. One of the main directions in the work of the enterprise is the need to attract and further train new staff - young professionals. Modernization has already begun: in the last three years, two turbine units have been replaced, some of the boiler equipment has been reconstructed. Returning to the history of the enterprise, it must be said that the 2014 became the year of commissioning of new power units of the thermal power plant, which was preceded by a large-scale and deep preliminary reconstruction. A year earlier, the newest boiler was launched, unique in its economic and environmental characteristics, which significantly increased the steam production rate by 40 tons of steam per hour.

Power Plant Accident

CHP-2 is known, in particular, because of an accident at the enterprise. At the beginning of this year, there was an unusual situation that led to serious problems of a technical nature. Barnaulskaya CHPP-2 suffered from a fire. As a result, the power supply cables of the pumps supplying water were damaged. There was a stop of two turbines and three boilers. At the same time, two turbines and four boilers remained in operation. The city had to declare an emergency regime. It should be noted that by the end of the next working day the situation was stabilized, and the accident at CHPP-2 was localized. The station entered the normal work schedule for supplying the heating network with water in a temperature regime of about 85 degrees. The houses that were left without hot water again received water supply in the normal regime.

Today's day stations

At the moment, CHP-2 not only functions in a normal mode, but also generates energy in volumes that significantly exceed previous indicators. So, in March this year the thermal power plant generated 101 million kWh of electric power, which is more than 7% higher than the similar indicator of the last year's performance. The analysis of quarterly indicators is not less optimistic. According to quarterly results, the increase in energy production was more than 27%.

This trend became possible due to the commissioning of new equipment in March and December last year. The eighth and ninth blocks of the station underwent significant modernization in accordance with the program of capacity supply agreements. Investments in the station (which is about 6 billion rubles) had a direct impact on improving its technical condition. Now that the new equipment is already in operation, the capacity of CHPP-2 has increased by 20 MW. It is noteworthy that the adjacent organization - CHPP-3, is by far one of the most productive Russian generating companies.

How Colleagues Work

Similar stations are known not only Barnaul. CHP-2 has a similar format in other cities. The same history and development prospects at the CHPP of Permsky Krai. The place of its location was the city of Berezniki. CHPP-2 in Berezniki entered the phase of deep modernization. The situation is similar to Barnaulskaya: local thermal power plants were built in 1930-1940, the equipment is out of date, the city for some time became a territory potentially dangerous from the standpoint of accidents and possible disasters. Now it is planned to put into operation new capacities - Novobereznikovskaya TPP is promised to be completed by the end of this year. Already attracted investment - almost 13 billion rubles. At the same time, in the plans of the region's leadership - to invest in the project two times more funds after the start of generating capacities.

According to the governor of the region, it is important that new technologies are introduced, which means that the situation with tariffs will gradually stabilize, as the costs for generation of heat and electric energy will be optimized.

CHPP-2 in Berezniki

The new facilities should replace the Berezniki thermal power station that existed for more than half a century. Equipment has already been delivered to Berezniki. It is difficult to build in the open field, on the one hand. It is necessary to erect all necessary auxiliary infrastructure buildings. However, on the other hand, such a construction option will help create a truly modern compact complex without unnecessary equipment and unnecessary for today's industrial systems. The basis of Novobereznikov will be two steam turbines of 40 MW each, and two gas engines of 75 MW each. The total planned capacity of the combined-cycle plant should reach 230 MW.

At the end of the construction, the situation should be solved, in which wear of equipment and moral discrepancy of technologies with modern requirements exist in combination with energy deficit. The new CHPP is additionally equipped with special boilers for waste disposal. This will ensure in the future the maximum complete combustion of fuel and, accordingly, a significant reduction in the harmful impact on the environment.

Kaliningradians are already working in a new way

On the path of improvement, it is worthwhile to focus on the best - Kaliningradskaya CHPP-2 is now one of the most modern Russian power plants. Here, for a long time already installed equipment that allows to do the discharge of waste gases into waste heat boilers. In addition, that the thermal power plant meets the needs of the city and the region, in the future it is planned to cooperate on energy supply issues with neighboring Lithuania. The station was built ten years ago, but the economic effect of applying the latest technologies is already quite palpable. The city heating systems are reliable enough, and the ecological situation is controlled - steam-gas plants of a new type of PGU-450 are economical, they operate on natural gas, and full utilization of the heat of outgoing gases is ensured.

If possible, the impact of all types of negative impacts on the ecological situation in the region is minimized. The plans of Kaliningrad energy specialists to expand the activities in the city and the region are the construction of a second thermal highway and further expansion of the scope of activities, including effective cooperation with the Lithuanian side with regard to the export of thermal and electric energy.
