About each city or region, its residents should know everything: the geographical position (relative to other settlements), history, the availability of attractions, etc. This article presents data on some villages of Russia and Ukraine, which are similar to each other by names and nature.

The village of Lysye Gory (Russia)

There is a settlement in the Saratov region. This town-type settlement is the district center of the Lysogorsky district. Its population is about 8000 people, but according to official data of the census in the Bald Mountains, 20,000 people live.

The settlement is located on the right bank of the Medveditsa River, between the Khopra and Volga rivers . You can get to the Bald Mountains by car (the Saratov-Lysaya Gora route) and by rail (the junction point of Arkatsk-Kalininsk).

City `s history

Based on archaeological finds and barrows, scientists concluded that ancient people lived on the banks of the Medveditsa River. This is evidenced by numerous excavations.

Since 1910, Ukrainian refugees lived in this territory, who during the processing of fields for farming and found archaeological evidence of the presence of ancient settlers there. Some of the things found were: a stone hammer ax, bronze articles (ax, statuette), wreck fragments.

The village of Lysye Gory, the map (satellite) of which is presented below, was originally a village. According to archival data, it was founded around 1740. In the 19th century (in the second half) a steam mill was built in the village under the direction of the landowner Pyotr Fyodorovich Bartenev. He was the last owner of the village. In 1917, all the land of the landowners were distributed to local residents in connection with the proclamation of Soviet power.

Since 1951, the residents of Lysa Gora have started the construction of a hydropower plant on the Medveditsa River, as well as the development of oil and gas nuclei. At the end of this decade, the settlement was electrified.

From 1963 to 1967, asphalt pavement was laid in the district, and multi-storey gasified buildings and houses were built.

In the late sixties and early seventies the first shops of a poultry farm were erected.

The current district

Lysaya Gora (Saratov region) is famous for its well-developed agronomic sphere. In the fields grow sunflowers and crops. The main economic complexes in the district are:

  • SEC Kolkhoz Krasaevsky;
  • SEC "Kolkhoz Rodina".

Also the food industry is developed, which includes enterprises:

One of the main attractions of the Lysogorsky district is the stone church of St. John the Baptist, which was built in 1797. The church is the only remaining evidence of the existence of the village of Bakhmetevka (now it has merged with the Bald Mountains). Only the ruined walls remained from the building. The village of Lysaya Gora (Ukraine)

A similar name with the previous one, but the settlements differ in location. This district is located in the city of Kharkov. The Bald Mountain adjoins Cold Mountain. Between them there is a ravine, it passes along the Nizhne-Gievskaya street. Not far from the district are: the metro station "Kharkov-Sortirovochny", the locomotive depot "October", the railway line. Neighboring areas - Zalyutino, Nakhalovka. The streets that belong to the Lysogorsky district - Leningrad, Kubasov, Revolution of 1905, Borderline, New Life, Progress, Ossetian, Elizarova, Dobrodetskaya. The name of some streets was established by the Soviet authorities. The district is in the north-west of the city.

District History

Earlier, the Bald Mountain was covered with a dense forest. This name she received after cutting down the trees of the forest to build the bell tower of the Assumption Cathedral. This happened in the 20s of the 19th century. For a long time the spring water of the district was heated by the villages of Panasovka and Ivanovka. The situation changed only in the 60s of the same century, when builders laid railway tracks and carried out drainage works.

First, this area was populated by the poor population in 1840. People who lived on Bald Mountain, did not have the money to maintain their homes in good condition. From the second half of the 19th century (70-80s), the area was populated by ordinary workers who worked at the railway station. Also at that time workers of the brewery and ceramic factories were settled on the Bald Mountain.

Since 1898, Leningradskaya Street was building the Orthodox Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. It was built in 1912 according to the project of the diocesan architect Vladimir Nemkin on the land of rich merchant and resident of Kharkov - Konstantin Utkin. It was he who gave the go-ahead for the construction of the church. He donated 3000 rubles to her and in every way contributed to construction work. The church still works today. It never closed, it makes it unique. Also this church is an architectural monument of the city of Kharkov.

At the beginning of the 20th century, a kindergarten was opened on Bald Mountain. It was built for the children of the workers and the simple poor and housed 100 children, whom two educators looked after and looked after.

In the 20-ies on the top of the mountain began to build the village of Red October. It was built low-rise apartment houses, apartments were distributed to the workers of the railway.

Present years

Now the area of Lysaya Gora is divided into two parts: a village and a modern city. Because of this, the area is called a place of contrasts. Here you can buy different properties. In the city are available for purchase of a hotel (from 9 to 19 sq. M.), One -, two -, three - and more room apartments. Their price depends on the total area and housing conditions. In the village are provided for sale new individual houses. Some of them are built on a special project.

The main attraction here is the Alley of Thieves' Glory. She is at the 12th cemetery. The most famous thief who is buried on it is Vasya Korzh.

Only at the beginning of the 21st century a cemetery of people killed by the famine in the years 1932-1933 of the last century was found in the territory of the area under land works. People died in the streets of Kharkov, their corpses were taken down to the outskirts of Progress Street and buried in the ground. Now on this place is established a historical memo.
