Attitude to military duty in the Russian army

Each Russian young man is obliged to serve in the army in time. This duty is prescribed in the laws of the Russian Federation and is constitutional. However, not all young people have an attitude toward it. First of all, this duty falls on people older than seventeen, but there are categories among conscripts that are eligible for certain benefits.

Military duty is divided into three categories: pre-conscription training, active service and reserve. Young men from sixteen years old who did not pass it in educational establishments must pass the pre-conscription training. Such training includes not only training, but also the development of military-applied sports. Every young man or girl who received a military registration specialty must register with the regional military registration and enlistment office. At the same time, young people must undergo a medical examination and receive an appropriate certificate. In addition, the attitude to military duty is noted in the passport.

A man can exercise his military duties in two ways. Firstly, a young man himself can enter a military school or go to a contract service. An alternative, mandatory for all young people, is an army call - autumn or spring. It should be noted that this duty is by no means a punishment for "bad behavior", but the duty of every man, who, however, is not considered compulsory. There are no analogues of such a civic duty in world practice.

All conscripts are divided into four categories: those who are exempt from conscription, who are not eligible for military service, who deserve a deferment and are subject to conscription. Direct attitude to military duty is only the last category. From the army service are released young men who have not passed medical examination, already serving in the army and received a degree. Do not call and those who have during the performance of military duties killed a close relative - parents or siblings.

Attitude to military duty does not apply to representatives of small nationalities living according to national traditions. They are exempt from conscription and those who are not allowed to serve in the army of religion. Young men belonging to these categories, can instead of military service go to an alternative civilian. Unfortunately, there is no law on alternative service in the Russian Constitution. In addition, citizens with a criminal record, an open criminal case or imprisoned are not encouraged.

The postponement to the army relies on representatives of five categories. The first include boys who have any temporary illness. Such a delay may be granted more than once. Postpone the army service can men who have small children or raising them independently, breadwinners of families with many children or people whose close relatives need 24-hour care. At students of institutes, universities and post-graduate courses the call is postponed till the termination of study. The postponement can also be connected with the socially useful profession of the draftee. In addition, the personal decree of the President can postpone military service. This category includes cadets of naval schools and seaworthy schools, students of art lyceums of St. Petersburg and Moscow, as well as especially talented people - musicians, artists, writers and people's deputies.

Young people who do not fall into the categories described above are obliged to serve their term. At the same time, their service will be paid by the state.
