This depends primarily on the place of growth of the tree: in the southern regions of Ukraine and Belarus, the fruits ripen in August, and in the Moscow region and the Yaroslavl region, harvesting can begin only in mid-September. The variety showed good resistance to scab and other typical apple-tree diseases. The apple tree is fast-growing, that is, it enters into fruiting for the 2nd-3rd year after planting.

The apple tree variety "Kovalenko", among other things, has excellent frost resistance, so its successful cultivation is possible even in Siberia and the Far East. This feature has served to ensure that the yield of the variety is regular and high enough: annually it is possible to harvest up to 30 tons of good apples from one hectare of plantations.

• Illumination - the tree should receive a maximum of light, so on the south side of it there should not be bulky buildings and tall plantings;
• Protection from the cold winter wind - despite the high frost resistance of the variety, the fruit buds can be dried, which will affect the yield;
• Neighborhood - the apple tree does not tolerate closely growing corn and sunflower, as they drain the soil, which prevents the seedling from developing.

Care: water the apple tree with fruit

Since apple-tree "kovalentkovskoe" very quickly enters into fruiting, in the first year it is required to ensure the active growth of branches, which will bring the harvest in the future. To do this, it is sufficient to feed the tree with nitrogen fertilizers with the beginning of heat. In April, this should be root feeding, and in May-June - root-feeding. The composition of the root feeding is as follows: add 2 tbsp to a large (10 l) bucket of water. L. Urea and after pouring into the tree trunk of each tree pour 15 liters of solution. For foliar top dressing it is better to use organic, for example "Gumi".

In the first year after planting, the young plant needs and in autumn feeding, which should contain potassium and phosphorus.
