"Analgin" on the temperature of children: dosage. "Analgin": indications for use, instructions

The increase in body temperature is unpleasant not only in itself on sensations, but also because the body is bad and it tries to defeat the emerging problem. To cope with the high temperature, pharmaceutics offers a huge range of medicines, one of the first positions in which occupy analgesics. But is it possible to give "Analgin" from the temperature to children? Dosage, features and regimen for the use of this medication should be agreed with the attending physician, especially when it comes to the child.

A bit of history

Strangely enough, but the medicinal substance, which in Russia is known under the name "Analgin" and is actively used as an anesthetic and antipyretic, was discovered back in 1920. The German scientist Ludwig Knorr, who studied organic chemistry, discovered and studied the preparation of chemical compounds classified as pyrozoles. It was this group that included the chemical substance metamizole sodium, called "Analgin."

With caution

Like many synthetic drugs, "Analgin" has a dual effect on the human body: on the one hand, it helps to get rid of the pain and heat, on the other - it can harm the health in general because of the side effects. In many countries, metamizole sodium is prohibited for use because of the risk of complications in the form of agranulocytosis - a decrease in the level of leukocytes in the blood, in which the body becomes more susceptible to bacteria and fungi. Today, the preparation "Analgin", the indications for use of which are specified in the instructions, is allowed for sale in the Russian pharmacy network without a doctor's prescription, but removed from the list of vital medicines.

Antipyretic analgesic

When prescribing the preparation "Analgin" from the temperature of children, the dosage should be strictly observed to avoid the occurrence of an adverse reaction. Metamizole sodium, which is the active substance of this drug, has an analgesic and antipyretic effect, and this substance also has a slight anti-inflammatory effect. The use of "Analgin" as an antipyretic is more effective than other commonly known agents such as ibuprofen or paracetamol. But if you compare "Analgin" and "Aspirin", then the latter will be more effective at elevated temperature.

When to use?

The drug "Analgin" knocks down the temperature and eliminates pain in many cases. Indications for use of this drug are:

  • Algodismenorea (menstrual symptoms);
  • toothache;
  • Biliary colic;
  • Intestinal colic;
  • Myalgia;
  • Migraine and other headaches;
  • neuralgia;
  • Burn pain;
  • Post-traumatic pain;
  • Renal colic;
  • Radiculitis;
  • Joint pain;
  • Insect bites (allergic reaction in the form of pain at the site of a bite and increase in body temperature).

Feverish conditions often arise in the case of painful sensations of different etiology and location. Therefore, "Analgin" from the temperature of children (the dosage is used according to age as prescribed by the doctor) or adults is appointed quite often.

How is it produced?

The drug of the trade mark "Analgin" is issued in several forms:

  • pills,
  • Candles,
  • Ampoules for injection.

Each form of the drug is used in certain cases. Thus, the tablet form is convenient for adults. Children only for medical reasons it is more convenient to use candles. Injections have, say, accelerated action.

Tablets from the temperature of "Analgin" have in their composition 500 mg of the active substance metamizol sodium. As additional components, tablet-forming substances such as magnesium stearate, talc and / or starch are most often used. Suppositories contain 100 or 250 mg of drug substance per unit. The injection solution contains 500 mg of sodium metamizole per 1 ml of solution. Ampoules are available in a volume of 1 or 2 ml.

How does "Analgin" knock down the temperature?

The drug called "Analgin" has the ability to relieve pain and lower body temperature with fever. These effects are achieved due to the fact that metamizole sodium, and this active substance "Analgin", blocks a group of enzymes called "cyclooxygenases", which are responsible for the symptoms of illness - pain and fever. Also, "Analgin" increases the pain threshold and increases the heat transfer of the body. It is on these factors and the use of metamizole sodium as a medicinal substance is based.

If the child has a fever

The injection of "Analgin" from temperature is one of the most effective, quick-acting ways to bring down a painful fever. With this method of drug use, a small amount of metamizole sodium is detected in the blood in an unchanged form. But with oral administration or using rectal suppositories this chemical substance in the blood plasma is not detected. His therapeutic activity metamizole sodium reaches an hour after 2 hours after taking the "Analgin" tablet, although acting as an antipyretic and anesthetic, this medicine begins 20-40 minutes after admission. Although the pediatric practice most often prescribes other antipyretic drugs, the treating doctor can be shown the use of the preparation "Analgin" from the temperature of children. Dosage in this case should accurately take into account the age and body weight of the baby.

The use of analgin in pediatrics

Each parent for sure thought about whether it is possible to give "Analgin" to a child from the temperature when the need arose. But this medication can be used for symptomatic treatment of fever in children only on the prescription of a pediatrician. The most commonly prescribed antipyretic drugs that are indicated for use in pediatrics are Paracetamol and Ibuprofen. But the most effective is "Analgin" at a high temperature, although its effect is quite short - only 2 hours. If the doctor advising you to use "Analgin" for the treatment of a child, then parents should know in which doses it is possible to use this drug:

  • Before reaching the baby 3 months, this drug is banned in the treatment of even high fever.
  • Babies up to one year are recommended to use "Analgin" in the form of rectal suppositories, dividing one candle with a face value of 100 mg in half.
  • "Analgin" from the temperature of the child (3 years) is allowed to give in a dosage of 200 mg in the form of suppositories.
  • Children under 7 years old, starting from the age of 3, can tolerate up to 400 mg of metamizole sodium in one day in the form of rectal suppositories.
  • A child from 7 to 12 years should give no more than 600 mg of "Analgin" per day.

With regard to the tablet form of this drug, the dosage remains identical to the rectal use of suppositories, but the tablet should be ground and give the child plenty of drink in the form of pure water without tea, milk or juices.

When can not you use Analgin?

The medicinal preparation "Analgin", the indication to which application - pain and fever, should be used in strict accordance with the instruction. For the use of metamizole sodium, the active substance "Analgin", there are many contraindications:

  • Agranulocytosis in the anamnesis;
  • An allergic reaction to metamizole sodium and other pyrazole or pyrazolidine derivatives;
  • Bronchial asthma due to the use of "Analgin";
  • Hemolytic anemia of a congenital species;
  • Intermittent porphyria in acute stage;
  • Syndrome intolerance drugs group analgesics or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs;
  • Arterial hypotension;
  • Unspecified acute surgical pathology (lubrication of a symptomatic pattern).

When using "Analgin" as an antipyretic or anesthetic, it should be remembered that this medicine can not be used by the course, it is used only to eliminate unpleasant pain and heat syndromes. It is necessary to have a qualitative examination and diagnosis of the disease that caused these symptoms, and adequate treatment for the established reason. Metamizole sodium penetrates into breast milk and through the placental barrier, therefore, during pregnancy and breast-feeding, women should not use "Analgin".

What problems can the reception of "Analgin" cause?

If there are no contraindications to the use of metamizole sodium and the preparation "Analgin" is used to relieve heat and pain, you should carefully treat the patient after applying the dose of the drug, since "Analgin" can cause the following side reactions:

  • Development of agranulocytosis - a decrease in the level of blood leukocytes with an increase in the number of monocytes and granulocytes, which leads to an increase in the susceptibility of the human body to the adverse effects of fungi and bacteria;
  • Granulocytopenia - a decrease in the level of granulocytes of blood on the general background of a decrease in the level of leukocytes;
  • Development of thrombocytopenia - a condition characterized by a decrease in the level of blood platelets and, as a result, increased bleeding of the body and possible problems with stopping bleeding;
  • Hemorrhages - hemorrhages in various organs and tissues;
  • Hypotension - the development of a steady decrease in blood pressure;
  • Tubulointerstitial nephropathy - non-bacterial inflammation of the intermediate renal tissue - interstitium;
  • Hypersensitivity.

The use of "Analgin" is an effective but short-term way to lower body temperature and to ease the pain syndrome in many diseases. But the use of this drug should be extremely acute, once. Although the pharmacy network makes the release of the preparation "Analgin" without the prescription of the attending physician, it is still not necessary to use it in treatment alone, only the doctor will assess the patient's condition, especially if this patient is a child and will give recommendations for the elimination of unfavorable symptoms.
