Perhaps the most beloved among the filmmakers is one of the most famous English writers of the 19th century, the author of magnificent female novels, each of which was repeatedly screened, Jane Austen. "Mansfield Park" - a film released in 1999, and a mini-series in 1983 - were so popular that director Aayin B. Mack.Donald again turned to the novel, and in 2007 released another version shot for television.

The novel tells the story of the young Fannie Price, who, by the will of fate, left her father's house and was sent to be brought up for wealthy relatives - to the family of her mother's sister, who successfully married the rich baronet Thomas Bertram. At the age of 12, Fanny leaves his family in Mansfield Park and is brought up along with three Bertram children. Rich relatives constantly remind the girl of her second-class origin. However, Fanny grows a modest, patient and virtuous girl. From the very first day of her stay at Mansfield Park, she is in love with her cousin Edmund, the only one who takes care of her and participates in games and amusements with her poor cousin.

Years pass, Fanny grows into a charming girl, a modest, sweet, full of virtues. During the departure of the owner of the house to India, where the Bertram plantations are located, a couple of young people come to Manswild Park from London - the sister and brother of Henry and Mary Crawford. At the same time, Henry is fond of Maria, the eldest of the daughters of the owner of the estate, who has already promised her heart to the stupid rich Rauschoort. After her marriage and departure, Henry turns her favorable attention to Fanny and makes her an offer. However, the girl is not sure of the sincerity of the feelings of young Crawford, and he receives a refusal, than grieves his uncle, Sir Thomas. After a time in Mansvild Park comes a terrible message that Henry still managed to seduce Maria, and she left her husband, fled with a young lover, disgracing the whole family. Edmund, seeing the true face of the Crawfords and their greed, looks at Fanny. He finally realizes how precious this girl is to him, how sincere and honest she is in her thoughts and motivations. Lovers are combined happy marriage.

In the 1997 film, directed by Patricia Rozem, the main roles were played by Francis O'Connor and Johnny Lee Miller. The picture turned out bright and juicy and earned a lot of positive feedback from both film critics and movie lovers and novelists Jane Austen. Mini-series "Mansfield Park", directed by David Giles and released in 1983, is truly considered the best adaptation of the book. A magnificent game of actors, full-scale shooting accurately conveyed the spirit of Britain in the 18th century. The filming of 2007 with Billy Piper and Blake Ritson in the lead roles, which appeared on television, caused a lot of controversy and negative reviews.

In any case, the novel and films made on it remain vivid examples of the magnificence of the works of the English writer and leave no one indifferent.
