An extremist is who? Who is an extremist politician?

At various times, numerous attempts were made to give the definition of "extremism" a definition. In fact, this is a very complex phenomenon, which is difficult to characterize. An extremist is a person who performs demonstratively tough actions to resolve a dispute or conflict. However, this term can also refer to beliefs, strategy, feelings, relationships. Moreover, the definition of "political extremist" is a subjective concept that can cause certain disputes in the society. So what does this term mean?

The appearance of the term in the Russian-speaking society

An extremist is a person who is characterized by extremely radical views and activities. For a long time in the legislation there was no such term. Who are extremists? According to the Shanghai Convention, which was ratified on June 15, 2001, these are people who commit acts aimed at forcible retention of influence or seizure of power. Also in this category are people who forcibly encroach on the security of society. Equally, this applies to armed extremist groups. The federal law of July 25, 2002, brought under this concept a fairly broad list of crimes.

Extremist activity

An extremist is a person who stirs up national, racial, religious strife. Also, this term refers to people who incite social strife, which is associated with calls for violence or directly with violence.

Who are extremists? These are people who call for aggression in society, propagandizing superiority, exclusiveness of themselves and those who have joined their organization. They also declare inferiority of other citizens on the basis of their attitude to a certain nationality, religion, social class, race. An extremist is a person who violates the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of other individuals, depending on their racial, religious, linguistic, social, and national identity.

Extremist statements

Wordless extremists are who? The public transmission of written or oral messages that are directed at the call and incitement to the implementation of unlawful actions, initiate aggression, provoke or lead groups of radical citizens - this all refers to verbal illegal activity. In this case, an extremist is a person who justifies or justifies the above kinds of statements, and also propagates Nazi attributes or symbols. The actions of such a subject, expressed in messages, words, phrases, public speeches, stories or even poems, are aimed solely at inciting racial, national or religious hatred and enmity through printed publications, television, the Internet, radio, the media.

Extremism and terrorism are synonymous or not?

Is the political extremist and terrorist the same thing? Is it possible to use these words as synonyms? Undoubtedly, the world community is taking measures to strengthen the technical and material base of antiterrorist bodies, making serious emphasis on the prevention and prevention of terrorist crimes. However, between the concepts of "terror" and extremism, an equal sign is often put. How much are these concepts really related to each other? The answer is very complicated.

Terrorism and extremism at the legislative level

An important food for thought is lists that are compiled by state authorities. Such texts include lists of public and religious organizations in respect of which the court has ruled to ban their activities (and liquidation) in connection with the use of extremist materials and terrorist activities. Extremist groups and movements are recorded in a special register. At the legislative level, you can see that these lists are different. The lists of extremist organizations rarely correlate with the lists of terrorist organizations, and vice versa.

Extremist organizations

The main materials related to the notion of "extremist" are data on the directions of radical nationalism. From a judicial point of view, it can be seen that more than seventy percent of all criminal proceedings under article "extremism" take place with a touch of nationalism and racism. In second place - materials on Muslim affairs. Further, it is possible to single out radical political opposition organizations that do not have a vivid religious and national character. There are also some separatist groups that also refer to extremist groups. The final positions are held by various opposition national minorities, sects and religious totalitarian groups, countercultural organizations.

Differences between terrorists and extremists

The list of terrorist groups is quite different: almost all such organizations, with rare exceptions, refer to different currents of Islam. Particularly large can be called Hamas, the Taliban, Hezbollah, Al-Qaida, Ittihad. The criterion of terrorist activity is the practice of violent influence on society and the consciousness of people, the ideology of cruelty, violent influence on the decisions of state authorities and local self-government, intimidation of the population and other forms of violent unlawful actions. It can be seen from the definitions that an extremist is a person who is not connected with terrorist acts or with violence over society, but expresses his disagreement with the political course of a state, with views that are accepted in most sectors of society.

Extremism in politics

A political extremist is a person who expresses his commitment to radical actions and views in politics, whose behavior is beyond the scope of the current law, violates constitutional principles, international and state legal norms. First of all, extremism in politics is nihilism in relation to law and laws. Parties or individuals, and sometimes even states and unions can act as subjects and objects of political extremism. As a prime example, totalitarian regimes and their messianic ideas can be cited: the proletarian revolution in Russia, the new order in Nazi Germany, the Islamic revolution in Iran.

"Left" extremism

Interstate and state extremism can come not from those in power, that is, from above, but, on the contrary, from below, from opposition groups, parties and movements. One of such radicals is left extremists. The classical form of such a movement is the Socialist-Revolutionaries, anarchists, "red brigades" of Italy, "axion directives" in France. Left-wing extremist ideology, for all its eclecticism, focuses on the idea of an irreconcilable class struggle.

"Right" extremism

Right-wing extremists are who? Unlike the left, they exploit "soil" ideas, which are expressed in the ideology of the struggle between races and nations, civilizations and cultures. There are several basic forms of this movement: ultra-conservatism, fascism, Nazism, nationalism.

Approximately from the beginning of the sixties of the 20th century, a huge number of neo-fascist groups appeared as a counterweight to the "left". The modern situation shows that the ultra-right have grown numerically and strengthened their organizations, which are in favor of establishing a system free from racial-ethnic equality and tolerance. A clear hierarchy and a "cult of heroes" are the basic principles. Socialism, capitalism, liberalism are rejected as harmful fruits of civilization. The right-wing political extremist is today a person who tries to soften his status with the help of various hybrid external forms. The French neo-fascists often call themselves "right-wing proletarians," the English people are speaking under the slogans of the "white working class". In the Russian Federation, even "national Bolsheviks" appeared.
