The hallway is considered a visiting card of the home. And if in the country houses here, as a rule, there is enough room for outerwear, shoes and other, then in the apartments this is the closest room. However, a small hallway can be quite comfortable, if its design uses some tricks.

One of the main advice of specialists to those who have this room is small: remove all the bulky furniture, which is not particularly needed here. For shoes and clothes, you can put a built-in closet, which, as a rule, takes up a minimum of space with good functionality. In the interior of a small hallway, it is desirable to include niches with illumination, as well as mirrors that will visually increase the space of the room.

When choosing finishing materials, it is better to refuse from those that have an opaque texture (for example, stone, wood). Such popular wall panels from plastic now take several centimeters, so their use is also not recommended. One of the best options in this case is the choice of high-quality non-woven or vinyl wallpaper, which are quite durable. It is also possible to use paint. In any case, it is recommended to abandon embossed materials and complex designs.

If the hallway is small, it is better not to use dark colors in its interior. Light shades not only lift the mood, but also visually expand the space. If nevertheless it would be desirable to add in an atmosphere of brightness, it is possible to paint a part of open space in contrast color.
