American writer Rosemary Rogers is today one of the most popular authors. Many writers refer it to the number of writers who stood at the sources of a new trend in the genre of a love-historical novel. Peru Rogers owns such works as "Love is sweet, love is insane," "Butterfly" and "Connected with Love."

about the author

Rogers Rosemary (nee Rosemary Janss) was born on December 7, 1932 in a British colony in Ceylon (now Sri Lanka). She is the oldest child in a family of settlers with Dutch and Portuguese roots - Barbara and Cyril Janss, who owned three prestigious private schools. Rosemary grew in an atmosphere of colonial brilliance. Surrounded by dozens of servants, she did not lack anything. Except freedom. The parents of the future writer adhered to the canons of strict aristocratic education.

Hidden from the outside world, the girl found solace in reading. Therefore it is not surprising that the literary talent of Rogers Rosemary began to manifest at an early age. As a teenager, she composed many romantic stories, imitating the style of her favorite writers - Walter Scott, Rafael Sabatini and Alexander Dumas.

The Way to Creativity

At seventeen, Rosemary entered the university. However, after three years of schooling, contrary to the will of her parents, she left her further education for work as a reporter in the newspaper Ceylon. And in a short time shocked her family with a marriage with a rugby star. The marriage was short-lived, and in 1960, Rosemary with her two daughters, Rosanna and Sharon, moved to London.

Traveling through Europe, she met Lera Rogers from the United States, for whom she soon married. Rogers Rosemary and her children moved to their homeland, settling in California. There, two of her sons, Michael and Adam, were born. However, the relationship with the couple did not add up. After eight years of marriage they broke up. Rosemary was left alone with four children in her arms. To feed her family, she was forced to work as a typist. One day her daughter found a manuscript of the novel written by the mother in her youth. After reading it, the girl was delighted and persuaded Rosemary to publish her work.

Writing career

To improve the story written in childhood, Rogers Rosemary rewrote her text 24 times, adding more historical facts. It was the novel "Love is sweet, love is insane," which was released in 1974. The book immediately topped the list of bestsellers and brought its author popularity.
