Worms in cats. Treatment of the disease

Almost all of us have one or more pets, furry, gentle and devoted friends - cats. They decorate our home with our presence, bring home a feeling of coziness, warmth, give us their unselfish love and endless attention. It's nice to come home and, settling on your favorite couch, to pick up your affectionate four-legged friend, pat him on a soft fluffy fur and hear a grateful purr. It's good, when your pet is healthy and happy, well, and when disaster happens and the cat gets sick, then it needs attention and care even more. A number of possible feline diseases include the following: skin diseases, invasion of external parasites - fleas, ticks, withers, lice, respiratory system diseases, digestive system diseases, often - eye diseases and others. Another unpleasant disease in cats is the infection with worms. It is necessary to treat such animals without fail. Parasites can lead to exhaustion and even death. Glyst in animals is considered a disease caused by parasites in the animal's body, cestodes, nematodes and trematodes. Some types of worms are dangerous both for all kinds of animals, and for us, people. Therefore, if worms are found in cats, treatment should be started immediately.

Parasites your fluffy friend can catch by eating raw meat, fish, and sometimes get them from unscrupulous people. All cats are predators, and therefore in the life of many of them a great place is occupied by hunting for birds, insects, and among them - a carrier of diseases of the fly. Often it infects our cats with larvae of future worms.

This is a very serious threat to health - worms. Treatment for cats of this disease is a painstaking process. First, you need to determine the presence of worms, just by examining the faeces of the animal. In kittens, the symptoms of the disease can be manifested by dull fur, bloated stomach, poor appetite, diarrhea. In adults, signs are much harder to recognize.

The question of how to get rid of worms in cats is very serious. Before you begin treatment, you need to make sure that your pet does not have fleas. They are carriers of many species of worms.

Since there are no such means that could immediately kill the helminth larvae, you will need to take the medication twice with an interval of approximately 10 to 15 days.

Nowadays there is a huge choice of medicines to get rid of a cat from this type of parasite. Among them are tablets "Drontal", "Dirofen" and "Fiebtal", "Kanikvantel", "Tsistal-Ket" and "Panakur". They can be purchased at any specialized pet store. Categorically it is not recommended to buy medicinal products in the markets. They may be substandard or expired. In addition to tablets, suspensions can also be used. They are sold separately for adult cats and for kittens. The effect of a medication can be asked from a veterinarian or a specialized pharmacy.

Worms in cats, the treatment of which is necessary throughout the life of the animal, will not bring discomfort, if you take care of it.

Preventive treatment of worms should be carried out at least twice a year. You need to do this, even if your pet lives in a sterile environment and does not see the street. Before any vaccination it is important to check whether there are worms in cats. Treatment is necessary, otherwise the animal can get a serious complication. In the event that you have in your house or yard there is not one cat, but there is another living creature, then prevention and treatment are mandatory for everyone.

Remember: we are responsible for those who have tamed. If suddenly worms are found in cats, the treatment is carried out in accordance with the instructions attached to the drug you are using.

Do not neglect your friend's health, and he will give you his love and devotion for years to come.
