Winter pattern as another opportunity for coziness

Warm knitted things will become more comfortable if they are decorated with a winter pattern. Such decor can be performed in different ways: jacquard, braids, can be monophonic moving and changing face and back loops.

Patterns of Scandinavia

One has only to look at a sweater, knitted by a Jacquard pattern with snowflakes, you immediately understand that winter is the time of the year when you can not do without this type of clothing. The Scandinavian jacquard is probably the main pattern, the winter motive of which seems to have been created in order to warm its beauty in the most severe frosts. In addition to the fact that the drawing, which is often called Scandinavian, is beautiful, it still has a second functional feature - the finished fabric is thick enough and dense due to the interweaving of colored threads. To connect the winter pattern with knitting needles in the Scandinavian technique is quite simple, because there is no combination and transfer of loops. The main difficulty is to correctly calculate the loops according to the drawing, changing the yarn in time.

Another nuance is the constant twisting of working threads in the process of knitting. This is done so that the canvas was continuous, and there was no gap between the color change.

The Tale of Lapland

Often you can see that the winter pattern, made in jacquard technique, is not only snowflakes. Frequent guests on cozy warm sweaters - deer and moose. These animals are the personification of a winter fairy tale, because they are carrying a sleigh with a coming holiday. Figures of deer can be very different, there can be several, and maybe only one. In any case, work on such a pattern, as well as over any jacquard, requires the implementation of certain rules, among which the exact account of loops and twisting of the thread at work.

Jacquard rules

The jacquard technique knitting, and the winter pattern in most cases refers to it, it looks impressive, if done correctly. Therefore, having conceived to associate a thing with jacquard, you should familiarize yourself with some rules of work in this technique.

  • Color patterns require care in changing the loop in the course of the drawing.
  • In order not to create lumens between the colored loops or sections of the fabric, it is necessary to twist the working threads in the process of knitting. It is best to twist one row from above, and the next from below. Thus, the working threads will first be twisted, and then unwind themselves. You can, of course, change every color change with a different transition - one to start from above, one from below, but it's somewhat easier to work on rows.
  • The thread should be stretched evenly at work, neither strong pulling of the yarn nor large sagging of the non-working thread on this section should be allowed. Uneven tension will negatively affect the result of work, the drawing will either be skewed, or it will "part" over the color areas.
  • If the intervals of the colored fragments are large, then it is better to work from several coils, for example, two deer on an empty field should be connected from two coils of yarn, and not from one with long broaches. This design is convenient and practical.

Косички on guard of a cosiness

A warm sweater, a hat - this is something voluminous, cozy. Winter pattern can be not only a flat ornament, but also a relief decor of braids and loop transitions. The simplest scythes will become a symbol of warmth in winter frosts. A simple change of 4 to 4 loops with the same rapport in height can already become an ornament of any knitted thing - from mittens to plaid. But the winter patterns for knitting with spokes, based on braids, are very diverse.

The simplest spit can look very nice, if the transitions are done in different directions. For example, a braid on 9 loops can be knitted like this:

  1. 3 loops of the purlins, 9 loops of the facial, 3 purl loops.
  2. All the loops are knitted according to the pattern.
  3. 3 purlins, 3 loops left on the auxiliary pin at work, 3 facial pins, 3 facial pins with pins, 3 main staples, 3 purl.
  4. All the loops are according to the drawing.

Or maybe the same braid is slightly different:

  1. 3 loops of the purlins, 9 facial loops, 3 purl loops.
  2. All the loops are knitted according to the pattern.
  3. 3 purlins, 3 loops left on the auxiliary pin before work, 3 facial pins, 3 facial pins with pins, 3 main staples, 3 purl.
  4. All the loops are according to the drawing.

One small nuance, and the spit already looks quite different.

The braids and movements of the loops create surprisingly beautiful decors. Many elements from the displaced loops allow you to create complex patterns. And the same elements, but located in different order, with different intervals of rapports, create a different result.

Snowy openwork

Not always a winter pattern - it's absolute closeness, a dull canvas with drawings or braids. Winter is snow and snowflakes. And they are by definition light, delicate. And without such elements it is impossible to imagine winter patterns with knitting needles. Schemes of azhura necessarily include nakidy and strapping loops together, forming holes. On the placement of these elements, a pattern of azhura is built.

To make the openwork winter pattern with knitting needles neat and beautiful, the straps of the loops need to be made in different directions, depending on their location relative to the crochet around which they are located. This will give the pattern more neatness.

Also, one-color patterns can be made according to jacquard patterns, but instead of changing colors, use the change of the front and back loops.

Clothes look beautiful when decorated with patterns. Winter motifs just ask for knitted things that warm in the winter cold. Good luck!
