Winter is an amazing period, which is fraught with many secrets. And although the scientists are eager to disclose them all, to the full victory they are still very far away. And is it necessary? After all, then there will be no room for the magic that comes with this cold and snowy at times. Take, for example, such a strange phenomenon as a drizzle. What is a blizzard, everyone knows, but many have already forgotten about the drifting snow. And to fix this, we will make a short tour of the snow-covered fields, which conceal the secrets of winter nature.

Mysterious dance of snowflakes

The driftwood is the uplifted snow that hovers in the air, like a dance circling, to the sound of a howling wind. The main feature of this winter miracle is the absence of snow, otherwise it will not be snow. What a phenomenon does in nature has long been a mystery. Especially for our ancestors, they somehow thought it was all the tricks of the gods or spirits.

So, the fault is due to the cold winter wind, which raises snowflakes to a small height, and then carries them forward or swirls a whirlwind, it already depends on the terrain.

As for the weather itself, it can even be sunny - it does not matter at all, the main thing is that the wind does not lazy to howl. At the same time, its speed should be moderate, on average, not exceeding the threshold of 6-7 m / s, or else all this action will turn into a bottom blizzard.

And let the mystery of this phenomenon be revealed, then, as the snow drifts, it will always cause admiration. Especially in the field, where the winds create from the snow certain semblance of deserts, with their mounded humpbacks and barkhans. All this makes us believe that, nevertheless, some kind of unknown force exists and with his hand, like a brush, draws wonderful patterns on the snow-covered expanses of the country.

So this is the driftwood. What is it: a natural phenomenon, subject to the laws of physics, or an element of a fairy world created by the hand of the gods?
