Why is it impossible to multiply in space? This issue has been of concern to scientists for many decades. What is the reason? A lot of research was carried out, which confirmed that reproduction in space is impossible. Of course, conception can occur. But will the baby be born healthy?

First studies

So why is it impossible to multiply in space? The first studies were carried out back in Soviet times. The first participants in the experiments were rats. It so happened that these animals were pioneers. Rats, who became pregnant in space, gave quite viable offspring. However, adult individuals died very quickly after the appearance of the cubs. Returning to Earth, the rats were experiencing certain difficulties. First of all, the cubs could not move normally, since they were formed under conditions of weightlessness.

In space, many animals have visited. So it turned out that monkeys and dogs saw our planet from orbit much earlier than man. The French sent even cats to space. The first animals that flew around the moon were turtles.

All the experiments were carried out to get answers to many questions. And this involved not only the possibility of flying in weightlessness. Experiments were supposed to give an answer to the question of why reproduction in space is impossible.

Radiation in space

Experts from NASA conducted many tests and proved that it is impossible to reproduce in space. Animals that were conceived in weightlessness, not only could not move normally, they were unable to produce offspring. This proved that dreams of settling and conquering distant planets will remain dreams until humanity has invented anti-radiation protection for spacecraft.

Studies have shown that proton particles constantly affect the human body in space. It was noted that radiation is capable of "sterilizing" embryos conceived outside the atmosphere of the Earth. The future generation will simply be unable to reproduce.

What will happen to children conceived in space

Scientists have concluded that a girl who was conceived in space, in the ovaries, all eggs die still in an immature state. And after all they are formed at a fruit already on the fifth month of pregnancy. This fact grieves. In other words, such girls will be simply sterile. In addition, radiation in space significantly worsens the quality of sperm. It was noted that radiation and high-energy particles strongly damage spermatozoa. As a result of such changes in space, children with genetic defects can be conceived. That is why reproduction in space is impossible.

Dangerous particles and radiation

In the vast universe there is a large number of damaging factors. Among them is to distinguish cosmic radiation, which comes from various sources, as well as particles that fly from the Sun. Probably, many people know that in space beyond the terrestrial atmosphere high-energy protons, as well as heavier ions, are spread that can easily damage DNA. Alas, even modern technologies do not allow the creation of a spacecraft that would protect the human body from the negative effects of various radiations and particles.

Scientists say that any expedition to the depths of the universe will end in its very beginning. Reproduction in space is simply impossible, as long as there is no special protection against radiation. Perhaps in the future such technologies will appear. For now, the DNA necessary for the development of cells in the human body is very sensitive to radiation, which is in outer space. Experiments carried out on animals showed that offspring conceived beyond the terrestrial atmosphere are devoid of living ovules. Their destruction occurs in the 2nd or 3rd trimester of pregnancy.
