Have you heard of such a person as lamer? Well, if you sit often on the Internet, you've heard, of course. But for people who are not familiar with computer terminology, I will explain the meaning of this word.

So who is lamer?

The word "lamer" (from the English lamer - lame) in the jargon of computer scientists means a stupid and ignorant user in technology. A special definition of "lamerism", in my opinion, is not even the "advancement" of such a person, but his reluctance to learn and comprehend the basics of computer skills. By the way, often lamers are called by those who like to attract attention, for example, on forums, because lamers are very easy to find on a huge number of rambling words and sentences borrowed from various books, magazines or, perhaps, just heard from professionals. Throwing this kind of words - it's in the style of lamers, well, and how that breaks - we are not to blame (psychology lamer).

So where did the proverbial nickname come from?

I have two answers to this question.

1. Some naively believe that the word came to us from the lexicon of skaters. Remember, because I mentioned in the beginning of the article the origin of the word (from the English lamer - "lame"). For a short while, however, the given word was delayed for the skaters, but went straight to the BBS users.
2. Linuksoids also often complex about the curves of the hands of their companions. Therefore, the Internet community put forward a sound idea about the origin of the word from the title of the book "Linux Administration Made Easy" (LAME). It's no secret that some sysadmins put their hands in the wrong place. And, maybe, that's why I do not like sysadmins so much? However, about this later .... The version with LAME is quite plausible, and it has the right to life, because we are still confronted with the twisted comrades in the Linux environment.

Who can call himself a lamer, and who is this lamer really?

Oh, well, this is not the easiest task ! Each author of an anti-police post says about who such a lamer is, describing different traits of a person who could call himself so. Answering this question for myself, I would say otherwise. In my opinion, lamer is a person called "kettle with a whistle": he "whistles" about his abilities, and everyone does for him other people. And also, probably, because when the lamer is irritated, it looks like a boiling kettle (and whistles to the same thing). The picture, in a word, unpleasant and gloomy.

What is lamer?

The usual lamer is restless: he is in a hurry, he needs to finish the report, correct the statistics, and he "Axel" flew. I would now remember the notorious joke: "In what code do I have a mistake? In the genetic! "

Lamer are also noobs. Nub (English "newbie" is a beginner) is a person who dreams to teach everyone, that is, to poison a strange brain with his "cockroaches". Sometimes Nuba are too stubborn in their beliefs.

And of course, lamers are "teapots". They are everywhere. People are those who have to explain, tell, show everything, but in exchange you will receive a sea of gratitude.

As a small conclusion
