Where is the river Ruza? Characteristics and description

Ruza is the left tributary of the Moscow River, located in the Moscow region of Russia. Its origins originate in the Shakhov district on the eastern outskirts of the village of Maloe Krutoe. Further, it flows along the Ruza and Volokolamsky areas within the Moscow Upland in the direction of the southeast. The depth of the stream is small (no more than 5 meters), the length is 145 km, the average width is 50 m. Many are wondering about where the Ruza River flows into. It's very simple to answer it: of course, to the Moscow River in the vicinity of Timofeyevo.

Features

There are two large reservoirs at the Ruza: the Verkhnerozskoye and the Ruzsky. It is thanks to them that the Vazuz water system is fully fed. Also, do not underestimate their role in the water supply of the capital of the Russian Federation. Reservoirs are regulated by a drain, therefore even in the summer period the river Ruza remains passable. Along its right bank, not far from the former village of Nezhdino, there is a fortified town of the same name, dating back to the Old Russian times and the epoch of the Iron Age - the so-called Diacovian culture.

Let's take a look at the story

The archaeological excavations carried out in these places confirm the fact that these territories were inhabited by humans as early as the Paleolithic times. And about 2 thousand years ago the tribes of the Balts and the Finno-Finns settled here. It was they who most likely called the water stream Rowdzoi or Rudza, which in translation meant "calm, quiet." Due to the fact that the Ruza River was quite safe, the first settlement was founded on it. The name of the stream has changed slightly over time, and now sounds more in tune.

It was these tribes that began the construction of their tribal fortresses on the banks of Ruza, from which the Ruza Kremlin (Gorodok) eventually grew. Today it is considered an archaeological site and is fully protected by the state. Nowadays on the territory of Gorodok there is a charming park, which is a favorite place for walks of indigenous people and tourists.

The tributaries of the Ruza river

Many other rivers flow into the reservoir. The most significant are 8. Nearest to the mouth is the largest left tributary - the Ozerna River. Its length is 63 km, a swampy valley is observed in the upper reaches. The coastline is high, covered with dense thickets of forest. The right Pedna is also a tributary of Ruza. Length - 16 km, it flows into the Ruza reservoir.

What awaits fishing enthusiasts?

Here you will really like those people who like to sit on the shore with a fishing rod in their hands. The river Ruza is considered the most popular place in the Moscow region for fishing: sports and amateur. In its waters live more than 20 species of river fish. The most intensive fishing season falls in August-September, when there is a large number of fish in the river. You can easily catch the crucian carp, yazya, roach, and occasionally there is carp. Fans of winter fishing are mostly pike, bream and podleschiki.

Animal world

If we talk about the fauna, here it is diverse. Due to the fact that the river Ruza along the entire coastline is covered with forests, this area is ideal for many representatives of the animal world. Not far away you can easily find elks, wild boars, wolves, foxes, hares, badgers and raccoons. The banks of the river, overgrown with willow, were chosen for breeding by wild ducks and geese. Forests, represented mainly by birch forests, spruce forests, oaks, alders, larch, give shelter to many other species of wild birds.

Infrastructure

Due to the fact that Ruza is considered one of the cleanest and most beautiful rivers of the Moscow region, its beaches are famous for numerous health-improving facilities, sanatoriums, and children's camps. It is popular among tourists, kayakers, who love its dense forests, comfortable parking and even flow.

Protection of the Ruza River

To the pond could continue to please its clean water and picturesque banks, much attention is paid to the protection of the river and surrounding areas. For this purpose, banks are strengthened and the channel is cleaned, and the state of the water area of the stream and its tributaries is also monitored. For the discharge into the reservoir of waste and pollution of the environment, enterprises are fined. Avoid punishment only if you install a sewage treatment plant.

In Moscow, a single system is being implemented that implements eco-monitoring of water bodies, the activity of which allows for timely assessment of water quality in rivers, analyzing the state of each reservoir, responding to cases of so-called volley discharges and accidental pollution, identifying their sources. And of course, every vacationer should remember that it is from his careful and conscious attitude to the environment that the future fate of our planet depends.
