In the book, however, he tore his head off the pillow at 8 o'clock, but at the same time the writer pointed out that the hero woke up "earlier than usual". What will show us one day in the life of Oblomov? The fact that he opened his eyes-still does not mean anything: Ilya Ilyich does not think to tear himself away from the sofa. After all, this piece of furniture he replaces and the study, and the kitchen, and the bedroom, and the hallway. To match him - and the beloved clothes of the landowner - a worn oriental robe, soft, spacious, capable of covering the full body twice. Oblomov on the couch is busy not only with reflections - he lives here: here the servant Zakhar brings food, being here, the host receives guests. Servant, by the way, is a little less lazy than the master, most of the time he sleeps on the stove.

Where is one day from Oblomov's life? In a posh four-room, well-furnished apartment along Gorokhovaya Street on the Vyborg side of North Palmyra. Here are just three rooms - uninhabited (to them - too far from the couch). The furniture there is covered with covers. Do not bother to go there Oblomov, chained laziness, like chains, to his rookery. And in the room where Ilya Ilyich is, good furniture of mahogany - a bureau, two sofas, expensive screens, carpets, silk curtains, expensive knick-knacks - everything is covered with dust, untidily, stained. Mirrors on the walls are so dirty that you can write on them with your finger. In the apartment there are mice. There are also bedbugs. And Zahar does not even "strain" to pull out fleas that liked his head of whiskers. The author of the novel was right: in the first part there was no need to show the reader a few days from Oblomov's life, only one thing is enough.

Daily communication with Zachar

The young master, waking up and reflecting for an hour and a half, without getting up from the sofa, calls Zakhar. Like every day, it begins to accuse the un-picked dust and dirt indoors. Zahar as standard answers his master that "the soul does not chaet in the service." At the same time, everything remains in place, including dust. Zahar philosophizes that the German order for the Russians is useless, he is very resourceful in finding excuses.

Ilya Ilyich for a long time painfully remembered something, and then asked his servant to bring a note from the clerk of his village estate. A lot of time took his search. After all, in a room things are not laid out in places, you have to look through a lot of other envelopes, rearranging such items as dirty plates and glasses.

However, the letter never began to be written, instead Oblomov translated the conversation into accounts for payment, which the servant brought him. However, this question did not find its logical conclusion, it hung in the air. It was three hours after the awakening, after which the landowner asked if the water and washrooms were ready. But even before washing Ilya Ilyich did not get it. He again was distracted by a philosophical conversation with Zakhar about the "donkeys" who are getting married.

Reception of guests

Then Oblomov received several guests. The secular dandy Volkov arrived. Their whole conversation was reduced to the guest's monologue about love, about appointments at Savinovs, Maklashins, Tyumen, Mussinsky, Vyaznikovs. At the end, Volkov invited Ilya Ilyich "for oysters," but not for his own money, but for "money", as he "treats Misha." Our main character after the departure of the secular character gives him an assessment - "there is no person", he "crumbles" into ten places daily.

To our hero is a man in a shapely green dress coat with coat-of-arms buttons - the head of the Sadbinsky branch. His thoughts - on the service, on a profitable wedding for a further career. Oblomov thinks about him.

Then in the doorway - the writer Penkin. A superficial, close-minded "scamper" of paper. He, a man who is narrow-minded, does not even try to see in his images a "divine spark", a living person, depicting events in black and white. Behind him is Alekseev, an expressionless man, "gray," not sure of himself, devoid of his own thoughts.

After the guests had left, Oblomov finally found a letter from the elders. It, as it turned out, "hid" in the folds of the blanket. And this is a message since last year. It contains a report on a sharp decrease in income from the estate - by two thousand. This news causes only a languid Oblomov reasoning. Therefore, the elder does not bother with business correspondence with the master: all the same, the owner will not be affected.

Whose visit ends one day in Oblomov's life? At the end of the guest stream, Mikha Andreyevich Tarantyev comes to Ilya Ilyich. This man is as impractical as Oblomov. But, unlike the first, perfectly mastered the art of verbal fraud. He knows how to captivate an idea, to emphasize the simplicity and temptation of its execution, to make a "sacrifice" for its implementation. But then - Mikhei Andreevich retires. Only he was seen. He is interested in the country estate of the protagonist, he tries to entice Oblomov into his plans, so that he "got into his network". Tarantiev convinces him to come to the village, to replace the headman, he promises him a warm meeting with his kuma - Agafya Pshenitsyna (whose brother - Mukhoyarov Ivan Matveyevich, burned out a scoundrel - is assigned the role of the actual destroyer Oblomov).

Then followed a rich dinner, and - rest, after a day's work. Such an "intense regime of the day" was maintained for several generations of his ancestors.

Here is an analogy with the famous American film "Groundhog Day". Unlike the Gontchar novel, this film is of a fantastic nature. The main character Fill "stuck" in the same day. It seemed that the day was over. Night, a dream. Then morning - and again begins yesterday, repeating itself in the smallest detail. And it is only thanks to self-discipline and the "accumulation" of a positive balance of good deeds that the hero of the film manages to break out of this vicious circle. If you try to answer the question: "What is the tragedy of Oblomov's life?", Then the answer can obviously be built on the basis of the analogy with the above-mentioned film. Figuratively speaking, the Gontchar character is not the old (32 - 33 years old) landowner Oblomov Ilya Ilyich - not only for twelve years "tightly stuck" in the monotony of days filled with passive meditation and contemplation, but also does not try to develop, show a male character, start a constructive Activity. As a result, on the basis of hypodynamia, a deadly disease develops.
