What neighboring countries of Russia surround it from the south and east

In assessing the experts of the international and geopolitical situation, special attention is paid to Russia's neighbors. Researchers continue to analyze the specificity of our state's relations with neighboring countries.

On the one hand, the experts noted its cultural affinity with Europe, and on the other hand, the objective specificity caused by the geographical position of Russia, a vast territory and a cultural and historical heritage.

In addition, according to economists and political scientists, Russia's neighbors have had a significant impact on the changes that occurred in Eurasia in the 1990s. It was the destruction of the old equilibrium, which lasted about half a century, that led to a crisis of political identity in Europe and in our country.

At the same time, in Russia, one more crisis is being imposed - the collapse of the USSR. And from a theoretical and practical point of view, our country becomes a continental state that has exits to both the Black and the Baltic Sea. But it is also separated from Central Europe by borders with independent states of near and middle foreign countries.

So, characterizing the country-neighbors of Russia, first of all, I would like to pay attention to Georgia. Its capital is Tbilisi. A distinctive feature of Georgia is the unification of a beautiful landscape and a small territory. From the north on its defense are the Caucasus mountains, and from the west - the Black Sea. In one third of the country is covered with forests with oak, beech, spruce and pine trees. One of the attractions of this country are the vineyards.

The nearest neighbors of Russia are Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. The capital of Azerbaijan is Baku. Azerbaijan is famous for its fragrant tea and delicious crispy cakes baked in round ovens, called tandyr.

Along the Caspian Sea are the eastern neighbors of Russia - Kazakhstan and Mongolia. At the same time, Kazakhstan has a rather long border with Russia. Its capital is Astana. They grow grain and cotton in this region, and are engaged in sheep breeding. Kazakhs are excellent hunters, the so-called Berkutchi, who hunt wolves and foxes, using their faithful golden eagles.

Mongols are engaged in cattle breeding (they breed goats, sheep, horses and camels). Their dwelling - portable (yurt), which is built of trellised wooden walls with a dome in the form of a cone, made of poles and felt cover. In the center of the yurt the hearth is necessarily located, and comfort in such a dwelling is created with the help of thick carpets. Due to the peculiar structure, the yurt can be collected and disassembled in just a few hours.

The neighboring countries of Russia would not be fully considered, if not to mention China and Korea. So, China is the third largest state in the world and the main supplier of rice. The famous landmark of China is the Great Wall of China, built to defend against nomads.

North Korea is between the Japanese and the Yellow Seas. The border with Russia is the shortest (16 km). The capital of this country is Pyongyang.
