What is shugaring, or How to make a sweet hair removal

Modern fashionistas and beauties are sometimes concerned about the question: "What is sugarering?". Those who have some knowledge of English understand that this is due to some kind of sugar procedure. And they turn out to be right. Actually shugaring is a sugar epilation, and very effective.

Explaining what is shugaring, it should first of all say that this is a very ancient kind of epilation. They say that the Egyptian Queen Nefertiti used it, famous for her unprecedented beauty. Only then, in the XIV century BC, honey, wax and plant juice were used instead of sugar. A sugar to remove excess hairs was used by Queen Cleopatra, famous not only for her beauty, but also had secret knowledge of caring for the female body. Probably, that's why they say about shugaring that this is Persian hair removal.

In any case, no matter how the procedure is called, every day it becomes more popular among our beauties. Now almost every beauty salon can offer this simple and very economical way to get rid of unwanted hair.

Now we will consider what is shugaring in practice, how this procedure is correctly done. First you need to prepare the skin. It is advisable to do a day or two before the hair removal. Immediately before the procedure, the skin should not be applied with various creams and moisturizers - it must be absolutely dry. In addition, for the best effect of the master use talc. It is applied to the skin in places where the sugar paste will be placed for epilation.

Apply the sugar mass (still warm) with your hands evenly on a small patch of skin. You can also use other tools: wooden sticks or spatulas. Do it against the growth of hair. When the sweet weight is a little cool, you need to remove it, now for the growth of hair (this is a very important point!). You can also use cloth flaps or strips of paper. Then you get something like wax epilation. But, in comparison with the last, shugaring has a number of advantages:

  1. Sugar epilation is hypoallergenic, as it does not contain dyes and perfumes, therefore, irritation will not appear on the skin. This allows you to get rid of hair on any part of the body.
  2. Shugaring is carried out at natural temperature. This will protect the skin from burns.
  3. After the procedure, there are no problems with ingrown hairs, because they are removed in the direction of growth.
  4. Remains of sweet mass after hair removal are washed off with ordinary water. Do not use any additional means or oils.
  5. The production of sugar paste does not require additional costs, which makes the shugaring procedure available at home.

It is not difficult to make a sweet syrup at home. It is necessary to take 10 parts of sugar, 1 part of water and juice of half a lemon. Mix everything in a small saucepan and put on medium heat. When the mixture boils, reduce the fire to a minimum and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that the color of the syrup becomes honey, and not brown. It is very important not to digest the mixture. When everything is ready, the syrup should be poured into another, more convenient container, and allow to cool to an acceptable temperature (not less than an hour). After that, you can start to slush.

Of course, sugar epilation still has one drawback - hair will have to grow to a length of 2-4 mm. However, it seems insignificant in comparison with all the advantages. After all, the result is perfectly smooth skin in any part of the body, and the effect persists for a long time (2-4 weeks).

Now we know what shugaring is, and how to conduct this "sweet" procedure without leaving home.
