  • high price;
  • Subject to damage by sharp objects, as a result, requires expensive repairs;
  • Reacts to temperature changes: with a strong heat a little sags, and in the cold it loses some of its elasticity,

Types of ceilings

It is impossible not to say that the tension ceilings are able to change beyond recognition even the smallest room. Buyers need to know what are the stretch ceilings. The types of these structures can be divided into three separate groups:

  • By the method of installation;
  • By invoice;
  • By color.

This modern ceiling structure consists of an elastic web that is evenly stretched between a baguette (profile) system made of plastic or aluminum. What are the ceilings? Today, there are two types of such constructions: film, fabric. Let us consider each species in detail.

Film Ceilings

They are made of PVC film and mounted with heating the room and its subsequent cooling (the method of thermal shrinkage). This type of ceiling is used most often. This is due to a large selection of textures: matte, glossy, suede, satin, mirror.

They are called French ceilings, as the idea of creating film materials appeared in France. Knowing what kind of suspended ceilings (types) there are, you can choose satin ceilings, which create an effective play of light. Such coverage is never boring.

Despite the obvious advantages of film coating, the stretch ceiling with its use is quite brittle, it can easily be damaged by any sharp object during operation or inaccurate installation.

Fabric Ceilings

They are based on a woven canvas, covered in the process of production with a special compound, which imparts strength to the material. At different manufacturers, the impregnating composition (like the thread) is different. The stretch fabric fabric is much stronger than the film cloth and is practically not afraid of significant sharp temperature changes.

However, the color palette and plasticity of such coatings are limited. Fabrics can only have a matte texture. This has its advantages. You can decorate such a ceiling with a photograph of a beautiful landscape, an original pattern. It can be painted, painted by a brush of a familiar artist. The dullness of the fabric ceiling gives the image depth and expressiveness.

Finished constructions

If you have no idea how you want to see your ceiling, contact one of the companies in your city that is engaged in the manufacture of stretch ceilings. The designer of the company will offer you an interesting variant of design or a finished composition. For example, "Starry Sky" is very popular. This is one of the most popular designs. It will fill your house with romance. This ceiling can also be used in the children's room.

Levels

What are the ceilings for the design? They can be divided into three groups:

  • Stepped;
  • Single-level;
  • Multilevel.

Types of installation

Specialists use two types of installation of tensioning structures:

  • Cold installation;
  • Hot mounting method.

Width of cloths

In accordance with this classification of tension structures, today the following types of available consumer are available: ceilings of seamless and suture type. Only fabric fabrics can be seamless. They are produced in rolls of a wide width (up to 5 m), and the film coating has been welded for a long time among the canvases with a width of about one and a half meters.

Nowadays manufacturers of PVC stretch films from China began to produce them in wide rolls, which makes it possible to install ceilings without seams, which can spoil the appearance of the finished product.

Fastening technology

First of all, it's harpoon ceilings. With the help of the harpoon, the canvas is secured to the baguette installed along the perimeter of the room.

Hang-mouthed method of fixing the ceiling is used for the installation of cloths from the fabric, which exert a lower pull force on the baguette. In this case, a special wedge construction is used, in which the edge of the web is fixed.

How to choose a stretch ceiling?

Before choosing a material, carefully measure the width and length of your room. If one of the sides of the room does not exceed three meters, then you can fit linen width of 2.7 meters (Germany). They will help create a perfect seamless ceiling. If the dimensions of one side of the room are 3.1-3.5 meters, then you need linens not less than 3.5 meters (Belgium, China). If the dimensions of the room exceed 3.5 meters, then a seamless ceiling can be made using the cloth cloths Clipso, Cheryti, Dercor.

Care

We have already said that stretch ceilings have an antistatic coating, which allows to reduce dustiness. Usually, to eliminate small dirt it is quite enough to wipe the surface occasionally with a dry soft cloth and even more rarely do wet cleaning.

Meanwhile, the care for such ceiling coverings depends on where they are mounted. In rooms, the humidity in which is greatly increased, you will have to wash linens much more often. These are the bathrooms, loggias and kitchens. Clean the surface very carefully to prevent the formation of micro-scratching.

Is it possible to wash such constructions? Yes, it is possible, but following a simple rule - the detergents used in its composition should not contain abrasive substances. It is best to wash the ceilings suitable soap solution, ammonia solution or special polishes.
