Currently, there is a wide variety of different materials, but the most popular and popular are waterproofing materials that are produced by such famous companies as CERESIT, IVSIL, GLIMS. Waterproofing of the floor in the bathroom is done by the method of pasting or by the method of spreading. It all depends on the surface, as well as on the timing for which you need to do the necessary work.

If the waterproofing of the floor in the bathroom is done by a pasting method, then roll materials are used that are reinforced with polyester or fiberglass or have a bitumen base. When laying the latter, it is necessary to use a burner, and all the others have a self-adhesive base. The main task in their packing is the qualitative and accurate marking of the material.

Waterproofing the floor in the bathroom with rolls is not always convenient in small rooms. Oaklechny method, although more reliable, but it requires a lot of time and labor. When using a bitumen base, it is necessary to ventilate the room well during work, since there is an unpleasant odor. But the advantage is that immediately after stacking such material it is possible to walk on it. And one of the disadvantages is that the height of the room decreases by several centimeters.

The waterproofing of the floor in the bathroom by the lubricating method is more universal and therefore in modern construction it is used much more often. This method is distinguished by its simplicity and economy. When carrying out this type of work, there is no need to do any preparatory work, and this in time saves considerable time. Mastics are used, both on bitumen and polymer basis, as well as polymer-cement and cement mastics, and various sealants.

The most common are bitumen-polymer and bitumen-rubber materials. Due to the properties of these materials, they adhere well to the surface and are resistant to various external factors. As in the first, and in the second case, it is necessary to lay a screed, which slightly reduces the height of the room.

Often used a more traditional method of waterproofing with cement and cement-polymer mastics. To prepare them, you need cement water and a polymer filler. This type of insulation has high strength and reliability, and the disadvantage is that the prepared mixture must be placed very quickly, so it can not be stored for a long time.

One of the most modern mastics is polyurethane mastic. Its difference is that it is a one-component material that does not create seams and protects against various microorganisms, and it can immediately glue the tile. Waterproofing by the lubricating method is best suited for small rooms where it can be applied with a roller or even a brush. In order to seal joints and seams, acrylic mass or sealants are used.

The waterproofing of the wooden floor in the bathroom is carried out either with bitumen or with a one-component polyurethane mastic. It is the latter that makes it possible to protect the wooden floor from various pests and is vapor-proof. Also this kind of mastic retains its characteristics in the temperature range from -40 to +90 degrees, which is very convenient especially in village houses or in cottages.

When carrying out this type of repair, you must strictly adhere to the technology, and the work is performed only at positive temperatures, and the humidity of the air should not be more than 60%.
