Waterfall Plakun (Perm region) - the pearl of the Urals
The Sylva River, one of the many hundreds of rivers in Russia, flows through the territories of the Sverdlovsk Region and the Perm Territory. Its length is 493 kilometers, the source is on the slopes of the Middle Urals, the mouth is the Kama Reservoir, the Chusov Bay. It flows all the time to the west along a very sinuous channel.
Sylva Attractions
The river is famous for its clean and soft water. There is on this waterway a 300-kilometer section suitable for an alloy. The Sylva River is known for the fact that on its left bank, between the villages of Kamenka and Moloobka, is the Molebskaya anomalous zone, known as the M-zone, the Perm Triangle and others. Here there are paranormal phenomena. According to ufologists, even the Sylva River changes the direction of its current in this area. On the banks of this waterway, thanks to the karst deposits in the rocks, there are caves and grottos. The largest and most famous is the Kungur Ice Cave.
But the biggest attraction on this river is the Plakun waterfall. The Perm region, in whose territory this unique hydrological monument of nature is located, is widely known among ecotourism lovers thanks to Plakun. The waterfall falls near the villages of Pepelyshi and Sasykovo.
Clean girl's tears
What is this gully and why is it called this? The seven-meter waterfall of Plakun (Permsky Krai) represents two narrow strips of water, up to a meter, which, crashing down, are broken up into thousands of splashes resembling tears. And if it concerns tears, then the legends surrounding the "weeping object" will certainly connect him with a loving girl, who was separated from her loved one by the villains. And the local legend tells that the girl was also imprisoned in the dungeon, where she cries and cries, and tears, making their way through the earth, all flow and pour.
The unique water of Plakuna
In the Urals, where there are mountains and rivers, there are not many waterfalls, they are known by far, and the Plakun waterfall is very popular. The Perm region (Suksu district) is known not only for the waterfall, but also for the village called Suksun, which is the homeland of samovars. Plakun, located on the right bank of the Sylva, near Suksun, is the main highlight of this area. Underground waters, percolating through sandstone, are rich in carbon dioxide. Under the influence of oxygen, calcareous tuffs are formed, which strengthen both the rock along which the waterfall falls and the bank of the river where the stream falls. Even the moss, covering the stones, was petrified by the action of calcium carbonates. The water forming the waterfall Plakun (Perm region) is clean, fresh, without color, taste and smell. In addition, it is incredibly cold, even on the hottest day its temperature does not exceed 5.2 degrees. And still, due to the fact that it is considered curative, there are always threefold washing of daredevils, who later claim that they have really become incredibly strong both in body and spirit.
Holy spring
The Suksun waterfall Plakun has one more name - among the Orthodox, it is called the Ilyinsky holy spring. Why Ilinsky? According to another legend, a monk Ilya lived near the source in the cell cut in the rock many, many years ago. He was known for the gift of healing. To his cell twice during the year came the procession. Tradition says that in the seventeenth century to the place where Tokhtarevsky Monastery was located, on the river sailed the icon of the Mother of God "Burning Bush". She is still in the Peter and Paul Church of Suksun and is considered a defender of this region.
Wonderful winter fairy tale and the road to it
This can best be done by arriving in the village of Suksun, where there is a hotel of the same name for those who want to admire the waterfall longer. From this village to Plakun - 10 kilometers. The grader road leads to the village of Sasykovo, which must pass through and go to the bridge over the river Sylva. The waterfall of Plakun is already perfectly visible from here. How to get to Suksun? From Yekaterinburg (240 km), Chelyabinsk (450 km), passing the cities of Pervouralsk and Achit, before reaching the city of Kurgan, you need to turn off the signs towards Suksun. From Perm (140 km), Ufa (390 km), Tyumen (575 km), you need to drive the city of Kungur and get to the same signs "Suksun - Plakun waterfall".
