Use a wooden substrate to avoid damaging the edges of the drum mechanism. Next, we move on to replacing the shoes themselves. Please note that there may be difficulties. Over the years of operation they strongly adhere to the drum. The occurrence of rust is not ruled out. If the shoe comes out with difficulty, we use the improvised tools. Hammer carefully knock out the part, so as not to damage the base itself. Next, you need to remove the upper spring, which fixes the shoe on the shield. To do this, unscrew the pad to the side by 60 degrees.

Then carefully remove the part from the support. Take the shoe by the side where there is no "sorcerer" (that is, an output to the handbrake). We spread the pads from each other. After dismantling the first we go to the removal of the second part. It will be much easier to extract. Preliminarily do not forget to detach the linkage rod from the cable.

How to install brake pads rear?

VAZ-2110 continues to be on the jack. At this time, we bend the piston of the cylinder inward until it stops and attach the pull of the handbrake to the new shoe. After that, install the cotter pins and the guide spring back. We connect the cable back to the handle. We connect the upper spring with both pads. Then install the latter to the brake cylinder. We pull the block from below. So you pull the spring to place it in the spacer bar. We put the second shoe in place. Make sure that it is exactly in place of the mounting bar. With the help of pliers, we compress the second spring with the element. Please note - the handlebar cable must not touch the drum elements that rotate. Otherwise, it can be interrupted.

Collect the lid of the drum and put the wheel in place. At this stage, we successfully installed brake rear pads. VAZ-2110 can be lowered from the jack and test the efficiency of the new brakes. An important point is that the wheel on the suspended state should be free to scroll. If it comes with great effort, adjust or check the position of the shoes again. That's all. They are produced in Germany. During the tests, these pads received good results. Thus, the value of deceleration at braking from 100 kilometers per hour is 7.5 m / s2. With regard to heating, the temperature tests of these pads also withstood with dignity.

The heating of the friction material does not exceed two hundred degrees Celsius. During repeated braking, with an effort of 4 kg / cm2, the heating of the elements was 111 degrees. However, with an increase in the heating temperature, the braking efficiency dropped. This is their only drawback.

"Dummy"

This, perhaps, is the best rear brake pads on the VAZ-2110. Country of origin - Ukraine. During testing, the pads showed the best result. The deceleration rate at 100 kilometers per hour is 9 m / s2. Also, the friction lining well withstands temperature loads. With repeated braking, the drum was heated to 110 degrees Celsius.

At the same time, the work efficiency remained the same. Noticeable dips were felt at a temperature of two hundred degrees. However, in order to heat the shoe to such a state, it is necessary to try hard. Even with an aggressive driving style, they do not overheat and withstand all loads. By the way, despite the fact that this is a Ukrainian brand, it can be found in any automobile store in Russia. Also these pads are like the cars of the Lada Samara family.
