Universal scheme: pineapple (hook)

Among the openwork patterns designed for crocheting, "pineapple" can be called the most popular and universal. Perhaps its wide distribution is associated with relative ease of execution, or also with the fact that the "pineapple" scheme (a hook, by means of which the pattern is created) is perfectly suitable for beautiful expansion of the parts of the product.

What is a pattern?

The element, which is called the term "pineapple", is used both in classical form and in modified form. Improvements relate to its shape, degree of density, dimensions, and patterns, which are used to form individual components of "pineapple".

Any "pineapple" scheme (a hook used to create an article) has several main components:

  1. "Leg".
  2. Triangular central element.
  3. Framing.

The "leg" of the pineapple pattern can be short, consisting of one or several rows. Some modified patterns provide a fairly long "leg", which includes up to 15 rows and gives the finished "pineapple" an elongated shape.

Openwork triangle, located in the center of each element, makes the pattern "pineapple", crocheted, recognizable and serves as its main decoration. At its execution the imagination of the masters is not limited to specific rules. Is that compliance with the mandatory triangular shape. The central component can be connected by a fillet grid, arches from air loops, lush columns, "bush" and many other patterns. To give additional decorative effect, it is decorated with beads, picot from air loops or by other means.

The "pineapple" scheme (the hook is chosen accordingly yarn) invariably includes a kind of frame that surrounds the element and is connected to it by chains of air loops. This component of the pattern is mandatory for all schemes (traditional or self-designed). Often the frame looks like a column of "bush", but there are options: the use of straight strips or the inclusion of patterns between the frame and the triangle.

"Pineapples" in flat cloths

This is the easiest way to use a pattern. As a result of knitting, the canvas does not change its shape and dimensions, that is, its width remains unchanged throughout the entire height.

Specificity of the pattern "pineapple" is that the paths of its frame form a wavy figure. Therefore, creating a flat canvas is not such a simple job. It is required to constantly monitor the compliance of the "pineapple" scheme. The hook is complicated for the skilled workers precisely in that it is possible to cut or expand knitting on the edge unnoticed for oneself.

Circular canvas, connected by the pattern "pineapple"

The composition of many schemes with "pineapple" elements is extremely convenient for the expansion of canvases. Therefore it is not surprising that the pattern "pineapple", crocheted, is so often used for making wide skirts, dresses, coquette, shawls, berets and other types of clothing. It is also often possible to see objects for the interior, which are connected by the pattern of "pineapple", for example, pillows, bedspreads, curtains, napkins.

As a rule, the expansion of circular strips occurs with the uniform addition of columns and loops along the width of the entire row. Various methods are used to develop different schemes:

  1. Increase the size of the rapport.
  2. Expansion of gaps between the rapports.
  3. Gradual formation of new rapports.
  4. Knitting of intermediate rows, after which there are more rapports.

With regard to the pineapple pattern, all these methods are also applicable. The arc formed by the frame allows you to start the formation of a new element at the same time as the previous one. This feature is inherent in almost all schemes, including more than one series of "pineapples."

Cotton napkin. "Pineapples" - a recognized classic

This ornament allows you to knit napkins of various sizes and styles. "Pineapples" can be conveniently combined with other patterns, placed in the center or along the edges of the canvas.

For this reason, circular patterns of napkins are popular with knitters who plan to make beret or shawls crocheted. "Pineapples", the schemes of which include small cells and details, are suitable for knitting headgear. And shawls, as a rule, are made on the basis of very openwork patterns.

Features of knitting shawls

This accessory has a dual function: decorative and warming. The pineapple pattern can be applied to work with warm or summer yarn. The photo below shows an example of how a knitting scheme for shawls was developed based on a round napkin.

The center consists of the napkin itself, the middle part is connected by a simple openwork pattern with observance of the principles of expanding the circular cloth, and the elements running along the edge are the final decor of the shawl crocheted. "Pineapples" (their execution schemes remain unchanged) are placed in one or several rows. A shawl can be made by doing half the scheme, then it will look like a semicircle. In this case, the craftsman used a three-quarter wipe scheme.

And in that, and in another version of the products have a very beautiful appearance.
