UAZ-29891: specifications and reviews

The car "Loaf", so at one time nicknamed the van, was produced by the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant. This name was given to the car because of its appearance. It turned out to be successful and was produced almost 20 years under the brand UAZ-452. In 1985, the car changed the serial number, but the appearance remained the same. After another reorganization of production, the "Loafers" were divided into models. For example, the factory number UAZ-29891 has a glazed van, 2206 received a passenger variant, etc.

And although the plant now mainly relies on "Patriots", "Hunters", the van is still being manufactured. According to the latest official data, in 2016 another change in the "Loaf" is planned. In this review, consider the car UAZ-29891 (technical characteristics, parameters) and briefly touch upon all the modifications of these, former and, possibly, future models.

The History of the Loaf

Most of the cars that received the UAZ emblem on the hood were assembled for official purposes during the Soviet era. In the retail sale of such models were not received, but widely used by the military, police, other government departments.

The first prototype of the modern UAZ-29891 was a van with a single rear door, a flat bottom and a convex front, manufactured in 1955 on UlZIS (so called the UAZ plant). Because of the stiffeners that crossed the roof in the transverse plane, it resembled a threaded loaf. Hence the popular name. Ten years later, in 1965, the plant was renamed, as well as the modernization of the first model of the van. There is a side door that immediately turns the car into a cargo-passenger category, instead of one back two are put, and the government departments are given a model that is being produced now. Under the orders of individual enterprises, the configuration of the doors, individual blocks inside (as in an ambulance), but the basic parameters remain constant.

Modern "Loaf"

In 1985 there is a big modernization of production, but the "Loaf", changing the factory numbers, as well as part of the components, continues to go off the assembly line. Most of the details were new, but a certain continuity with the original units is preserved. In this case, the reason is that strong changes will hit the distinctive feature of the old "Loaf" - increased cross-country ability. In both axles of the car, a dependent suspension is used, which is a prerequisite for maintaining a high clearance when moving large obstacles or moving at an angle.

The maximum number of seats depends on the model, but the consumer should remember that originally the van was conceived as a system. And if you have a glazed van UAZ-29891 with 7 seats, then making it a passenger version (2206) with 10 seats will be easy. Speaking of the system, you can add that in the roof of the car there is a place under the hatch (although the hatch itself may not be). In the version 3741 (freight van) stamping is made for windows, although there are no windows. In general, the modern "Loaf" is a unified car, and the option of a detachable all-wheel drive allows it to get to where it's expensive or just not, or it leaves much to be desired.

Models

Let's briefly consider the "Loaf" models presented to today's buyer. Only the basic models are described here, the whole list is much larger, since some versions can be further subdivided into branches, volumes and fields of application.

  • UAZ-3303 - on-board truck on the basis of a van (known as the "Tadpole"). Cabin for 2 people and airborne platform.

  • UAZ-2206 is a car that you rarely meet on city roads. This is a passenger version of the "Loaf". In terms of the number of places, we compare it with all the familiar minibus - "Rafik" or "Gazelle", but unlike them has a full drive, like all the models described below.

  • UAZ-3741 is a purely cargo variant. Three swinging doors on the sides, two behind, an all-metal van.

  • 3962 (39629) and 39625 - ambulances. The first has a stretcher holder, a partition with a sliding window between the driver and the rear, places for installing sanitary equipment. It is equipped with flashing beacons and rotary lamps on the roof. The second one does not have external beacons, but inside it differs only in the interior - there are no special fasteners for stretchers or equipment. Most of all it looks like UAZ-29891 (photo of the second model is presented below).

  • UAZ-3909 and 39094. The main difference between the models is the body (known as the "Farmer"). Both cars have 5 seats, the same engine power, but if 3909 is a van, then 39094 became a shortened onboard truck. There is a partition between compartments, a large trunk and at the same time a number of seats for a small company.

Fuel indicators

Since in most instructions the old model names are still given, users of new machines have a question about what is the rate of fuel consumption for UAZ-29891 . The answer is simple. Based on the above system, these parameters can be viewed in any modern "Loaf", even in version 3741, mentioned earlier. Some users note that it's better to watch data on the machine 396255. But for the sake of fairness, note that this is not entirely accurate. There is a model, a kind of which is the van described by us. This is the passenger version of the "Loaf" - version 2206.

It is the original prototype of our UAZ-29891. The fuel consumption and other necessary parameters of the glazed van can be viewed according to its specifications, corrected for the fact that there are fewer people here, and there is more cargo.

Characteristics

Since all UAZ vans are produced according to one template, only one model, UAZ-29891, will be considered. The technical characteristics of the car are as follows: a 2.7-liter gasoline engine can accelerate the van to 127 km / h, 112 hp, fuel Ai-92, 13.5 l per 100 km. The volume of tanks - 77 liters, 5 manual. Disc / drum brakes. All-wheel drive on the wheel formula 4x4 (switchable front axle).

Reviews

Unlike other automotive brands in Russia in the 21st century, UAZ did not radically change the look of its cars. And although the machines became available to the average consumer, they differed little from the models produced for official needs during the times of the Union. At "UAZ Hunter", for example, the only external difference from the 469th model was the roof. So there was UAZ-29891. His photo, presented below, differs only in one detail from the "Sanitary Inspector" 39625, the photo of which is shown above, - the absence of red crosses on the body.

Also the situation is with the reviews about these models. As already mentioned, UAZ did not hurry to introduce any drastic changes. And if "Kozlik" later became "Hunter", then the appearance of "Loaf" remained the same. Instead of old models, new versions of the old machines appeared. So it happened with UAZ-29891. Reviews about this model almost word for word repeat what is noted in 2206, 396255 or 39095.

Conclusion

Despite the fact that UAZ actively promotes Patriot and other models, the Bukhanka is still going to the plant, one of whose representatives can be called UAZ-29891. Although the specification for this model is difficult to find, it differs little from the UAZ-2206 minivan, the UAZ-39625 Sanitary Vehicle or the UAZ Combi variant.
