U-shaped profiles: an indispensable structural material
With the development of repair and construction technologies, many modern construction materials have appeared that combine such irreplaceable qualities as high strength, lightness and low cost. Among such materials one of the honorable places is occupied by U-shaped profiles, which got their name from the cross-sectional shape, which resembles the Russian letter "P".
Advantages of metal profiles
Most often the U-shaped profiles are made of galvanized steel or aluminum. Aluminum is an amazing material, combining high strength and lightness, making aluminum channel bars 8 times lighter than their steel counterparts. This property allows you to minimize the load of the structure while maintaining a high level of quality.
Despite the fact that the profiles are produced in different sizes (width and height of the shelves), they have one common important feature - for their manufacture, a minimum thickness of metal is used. Nevertheless, the geometry of the profile provides it with high strength characteristics, so the U-shaped profiles successfully perform the functions of running and carrying elements of various designs.
Due to the absence of internal cavities in such profiles, from them it is possible to create quite complex structures and systems.
Production of U-shaped profiles
The aluminum P-shaped profile is produced by pressing a special aluminum alloy with a high-grade chemical composition. Naturally, such profiles also comply with the state standard.
Sizes
Since equal-channel channels are produced in different sizes, in the course of their production of each variety a certain number is assigned, denoting the distance between the outer shelves of the profile. According to the grades of accepted GOSTs, according to the accuracy of profiling, U-shaped profiles are made of ordinary (B), increased (B) and high (A) strength. The cross-sectional dimensions of profiles can vary in height from 25 to 410 mm, along the width of shelves from 20 to 180 mm and in thickness from 1 to 8 mm.

Any design of U-shaped profiles is very light, but has excellent stiffness and strength. The plastic properties of this material make it possible to use it for making structures of various shapes.
