Today we will tell you how to draw a woodpecker. Almost all of us have seen this amazing and memorable bird in the forest. Let's return to our instructions. To make the woodpecker look natural, the work should be divided into several stages. This will systematize the process and allow you to remember the technique itself.

Before you draw a woodpecker, simply draw an even, clear circle. Do not rush for the compass, it's not geometry, and no one will put you an estimate. On the contrary, train your hand. When the circle is ready, form two smooth, curved lines to form the back and the breast of the bird. Round the lines from the inside (they should be more convex). Try to reach the shape of the egg. Then draw a straight segment of the beak. Do not draw a very long line, do not lead to absurdity.

The next step is to sketch the correct shape of the bird's head. In fact, it's very easy to do this. It is only necessary to draw a cocky tuft on the back, as a full sketch of the head itself will rush into your eyes. You can only outline it with a loop. Draw a beautiful beak (divide it along the length of the bold line into two parts). Then proceed to the design of the trunk. Hardly draw an auxiliary strip, which will later separate the wings of the woodpecker from its trunk. Draw the woodpecker's neck. Remember that in terms of thickness, it should look proportionate to the trunk and head! Once again, draw a breast and lightly highlight the tummy. Make sure that the resulting outline is harmonious. If it is not, correct it where necessary. Then draw a wing with paws. Here you can show imagination. Draw some feathers from under the wing so that the picture looks more natural. "Plant" the bird on a furry spruce branch. For example, a woodpecker can grasp the paws for a notch in the trunk, and with a beak to chisel this tree.

Look at the picture. Draw a round little eye, tail, and pay special attention to the wing. Work through all the details. Do not forget to erase the auxiliary lines. If desired, you can color the woodpecker. Note that the males have more red on their heads, but females do not. In other respects, in principle, a woodpecker can be of almost any color.
