The VSU Library as the main information and communication center of the Voronezh State Technical University is working towards the modernization of the university library resource management structure and the improvement of library and information services based on the use of innovative technologies.

Directions in the field of work organization

One of the priority areas in the organization of work is the improvement of the management and implementation of personnel policy, the organization of raising the professional level of the library staff. In order to preserve the fund of rare and valuable publications, the composition of the fund for the selection of publications subject to digitization is being studied. For the effective preservation of funds, passportization of book depositories has been started.

Library Funds

Disclosure of documentary resources occurs by replenishing the electronic catalog. The electronic catalog of the VGU library is also supplemented with bibliographic descriptions of individual articles of periodicals and scientific bulletins. Library-bibliographic service as one of the leading areas of work is designed to provide high-quality and complete satisfaction of scientific and information needs of teachers, researchers and university students. A multifunctional automated system was introduced. The library of the VSU is connected by a computer network with the university. Information-bibliographic service of users is carried out in a combination of traditional and newest forms, the number of provided certificates is increasing automatically.

To fulfill the strategic tasks of service, existing ones are being expanded annually and new opportunities for users to access information sources are created. Digital library

The VSU Library provides users with access to information sources in the electronic and hybrid reading rooms. Users with laptops in one of the buildings of the library are granted access to the university network and the Internet using Wi-Fi technology.

An information system is being introduced - an electronic archive of scientific publications of mainly university employees.

One of the priority areas of work is the creation of sources of bibliographic information, as well as electronic resources on their basis. The electronic scientific archive contains bibliographic indexes of the series "Biobibliography of Scientists. Voronezh State Technical University "and printed works of the University.

The institution carries out information support of databases. The creation of databases "Problems of Higher Education" and "Actual Issues in Social and Economic Periods" has begun. Work is underway on the electronic version of the "Library of Librarianship Materials".

Research work of the library

The VSU Library considers scientific and publishing activity to be its priority. Research is aimed at improving it. It is conducted by employees of various structural divisions, formally united in a scientific creative group. For successful fulfillment of this task, permanent cooperation with the departments of the State University is established. Scientific research is conducted within the working time, and their results are published, and also used for presentations at conferences.

In the direction of development of cooperation, the University Library maintains partnership relations with the leading Russian libraries. The direction of the university's activity in the humanities education of the educational process is developed by the means of cultural and educational work. Considerable attention is paid to the organization, more than 100 events are annually prepared using both traditional and innovative methods.
