The tick was drunk, what to do? How to pull a mite

With the onset of heat, you want to spend more time in nature: someone hurries to the country house and begins preparatory work in the garden and vegetable garden, others cheerful company go to the forest for a picnic, and even a seemingly safe rest in the city park promises only relaxation and pleasant memories. But, unfortunately, this is not always the case. It is with the onset of heat that not only nature awakens, but also its inhabitants, which can carry a serious danger to man. It is primarily about such common insects as mites. Their bite for a person remains invisible, and the consequences can be the saddest. The danger of biting such insects lies primarily in the possible risk of developing a sufficiently serious infectious disease - tick-borne encephalitis. Unfortunately, completely prevent the attack and protect yourself from the bloodsucker is not possible, but to minimize the danger in our power. Let's discuss the procedure for dealing with a situation when the tick sucked in: what to do to provide first aid? It should be remembered that the sooner an insect is extracted - the better!

Earlier detection of a bite is a guarantee of health

The sooner you find that the tick has digged under your skin, and you can extract it more carefully, the less likely it will be that it becomes infected. To do this, immediately after a walk in the places of their possible habitat, change clothes and inspect the entire body carefully, not forgetting about the scalp. Although it can be more likely to attach to a mite, it should not be forgotten that he can crawl under his clothes and stay for a while on it.

There is a certain risk of getting a bite without even going to nature, and being, for example, in public transport or a store, if there is a person near you who comes back from a walk in the forest. Therefore, one should be especially attentive and observant during the peak periods of reproduction and activity of ticks (March-April, July-August).

How to protect yourself from a tick bite?

Going to a potentially dangerous place of rest, where parasites can live, it is necessary to give preference to clothes that tightly attach to the body. It is much easier to identify an insect if things are light. It is necessary to cover your head with a handkerchief, cap or other headgear.

It is desirable that the underwear is refueled - this will reduce the risk of penetration of the tick under the clothes. You can use special aerosols from blood-sucking insects, purchased at the pharmacy.

But if you could not be saved, and you noticed that the tick is still on your body, you need to get rid of it as quickly and accurately as possible. The process of removal is not pleasant, but, in principle, painless.

The tick was drunk - what to do?

The main thing is not to panic! Observe calmness and self-control, follow all the recommendations - and you can easily cope with this parasite on your own. So, we pass to the most important thing ...

How to pull a tick at home?

If for the first time in your life you encounter a bite of such a parasite and have never pulled it out before, it is better to immediately go to the on-call hospital or emergency room where you will be provided with qualified medical care. But if you have certain experience and are sure that you will manage yourself, or at the moment there is no way to get to the hospital, then carry out the procedure with extreme caution and with observance of all rules.

The main task is to remove the mite as quickly and accurately as possible. Remember, your task is to get it whole, unharmed and alive. It should be remembered that in no case can not squeeze the bloodsucker, as this is the injection of toxins and possible infection. All movements to remove the tick must be smooth and directional, this will prevent its tearing, and you can easily pull out the insect entirely. If the parasite ruptures and part of it remains under the skin, an inflammatory reaction will develop and the risk of infection will increase.

The main ways to remove the mite

The most common method is twisting. For this purpose, special tweezers are used to remove the insect (it can be ordinary) or, if they are not available, you can remove the parasite and fingers by wrapping them in a bandage or gauze.

How to unscrew the tick, we will consider in more detail.

  1. Capture the insect as close as possible to the proboscis (the part digging into the skin). Twisting can be carried out in any direction.
  2. Place the tweezers perpendicular to the skin and forward, from side to side, to twist the insect.
  3. Do not make extra efforts and act as carefully as possible.
  4. It is good to wash your hands with soap before and after the procedure.
  5. Treat the bite site with alcohol or alcohol containing liquid.
  6. Make sure that the mite is removed completely.
  7. For three weeks, watch for well-being and in the presence of any symptoms (temperature, weakness, pain in the limbs, numbness or other unusual subjective feelings) immediately consult a doctor!

Regardless of the method used, after the procedure, inspect the "trophy". Remember, the bitten tick must be alive, because within 48 hours it must be delivered to the laboratory for testing for its infection. If you know that you can not take an insect to a study, you must burn it immediately after the seizure or pour boiling water to kill.

The second way is the so-called "dead loop", when the removal of the tick is made by thread. It is necessary to make a loop of a strong thread and, following the above recommendations, carefully remove the bloodsucker.

You can remove the tick with a normal insulin syringe. To do this, gently cut the tip and, tightly pressing the instrument to the place of bite, pull the plunger - it's done.

How to pull a tick at home, we sorted it out. But remember that even if the insect itself is not found, but there is a suspicious bite, be sure to treat it with alcohol and smudge with iodine.

Errors when deleting

How to unscrew the tick, you already know, now you need to protect yourself from the most common mistakes in this process.

Not necessary:

  • Lubricate the place of bite with oil or gasoline;
  • Try to remove the parasite jerk and bare hands;
  • Use non-sterile improvised materials to remove it (needles, barrettes, pins, etc.).

The tick was drunk - what to do? The first thing that arises in the minds of many - pour it with a liquid, for example, sunflower oil or gasoline. Say, thus the access of oxygen will stop, and the parasite itself will disappear.

Part of this makes sense, but such, at first glance, harmless exercise can promote the injection of toxins and poisons into the wound and the development of an infectious disease, if the parasite is its carrier - that's as lucky.

What is the danger of a tick bite?

An insect that looks like a small spider, it would seem, does not carry any danger in itself. But this is only at first glance. This unremarkable creature, sometimes even not always noticeable, can inflict huge harm to health, and in the untimely and in time not diagnosed cases even lead to a lethal outcome. The sucking mite increases tens of times in size, and the risk of infection increases even more when toxins enter the bloodstream of a person or animal.

Tick-borne encephalitis is a serious infectious disease requiring long-term treatment. If untimely detection of pathology or negligent attitude, serious complications are possible, up to disability or even death. And this wine is caused by this small tick, the consequences of which bite are severe enough to neglect protection measures or recommendations of a specialist in the therapy process.
